FALLON, NV (Nov. 15) — Rattlesnake Raceway held it’s annual Awards Banquet on this night. Once again it was at the Eagles hall.

If a driver won the championship in a car class they also got a Champion’s Jacket s well as a trophy.

Those that scored the top points had trophies or plaques given to them.

At the end of the table was a new set of trophies. Those were for the renewed Outlaw Kart Division that had their first season in 2025.
First there was a raffle. Prizes came from local business as well as some of the competitors. The raffle happened at different times but after the first session dinner was served.
Once that was finished it was time to start handing out the hardware and the new Outlaw Kart Division was first.

Four young racers topped the Beginner Box Stock class. John Goetz not only won the championship but also earned Rookie of the Year honors. Others were Haskell Boles, Zayne Summer and Cheyenne Goetz.

Three racers showed up to take the Box Stock trophies. There were Allen Boles, who won the title, four place John Goetz and sixth place Cheyenne Goetz

First and second place were on hand to collect the 250cc Kart trophies. Ameliz Kennemore was the champion, as well as Rookie of the year, while Aubree Kennemore was second so it was a family duel.

Levi Annas was the 500cc Champion as well as the Rookie of the Year. The Rookie of the Year and second in points was Amelia Kennemore.

After handing out those awards Royce had some comments about this past season.
“We ha some bumps but it was good. And were build the track. Hoping to grow the car count and get a smoother racing surface on the go kart track.”
REPORTER’S NOTE: The Outlaw Kart track is a smaller oval on the infield of the oval.
After another raffle session it was time for the car class awards.

First up was the Mini Stock Class. Jorden Riley is the 2025 champion followed by Joseph Cook, Cooper Lee, Kent Knisley while Glenda Lee was named Rookie of the Year.

Next was the Street Stock Class where Cody Morris earned that championship. Second through fifth in points were Joe Conroy, Ryan Parkhurst, Cooper Lee and Edwin Cedino. Rookie of the Year was Kody Blevins and accepting on his behalf was Danielle Arroway.

There were three Bootleggers on hand. Sam Miller is the champion while the runner up is Samantha Van Caster, whose son holds mom’s trophy while Joe Kough was third in points. Rookie of the Year was John Flowers.

Dwarf Car champion wasn’t present so a friend picked up the jacket and trophy for Joe Frock. Runner up was Philip Rowland, whose son is holding his trophy, and another boy has the Rookie of the Year award that went to Blake Bernstein.

In the IMCA Sport Mod Division Jimmy Ford is the champion. Second and third are Colton Blankenship and John Schilling. Rookie of the Year went to Mikey Johnson.

Chris Lewis is the 2025 IMCA Stock Car champion followed by Royce Goetz and Carl Barlow.

Finally Sam Bradley was the only track member in the IMCA Modified division although other drivers would visit the track and race there. His wife joined him as he accepted the champion’s jacket and trophy.

Next up were the special awards. Royce Goetz won the Dennis Kirn Best Sportsmanship award (far right in the picture) and to his left are Mikki Beuchat and Joseph Cook who tied for the Stephanie Benham Most Appreciated Volunteer Awards.
Next (white shirt) was Cooper Lee, who earned the Cornu Family Most Improved Driver award. Finally the Mark Lee Hard Luck Award, complete with a toy and banner was Kent Knisley.

All during the night track manager Krystle McCart Gilmore and Shari Parkhurst were handing out the trophies as well as running the raffle.
After things were over Gilmore was asked about the year.
“Rough,” she said at first. “But it was a great year, we had great car counts.”
Now she and everyone else will get a few months off then in the spring start preparing for the 2026 season. Actually the track prep begins a couple of months before that time.

• As we head into December there are going to be many Toy Runs and Food Drives. If possible please help these functions as they aid families in need.
• On Sunday, December 7th three groups are having Toy Runs.

- One of the largest is the 45th Annual Reno Toy Run that starts at Reno Harley-Davidson then at noon Santa leads a convoy to the Convention Center

- Reno Cars and Coffee will meet at the usual place for their 10th Annual Toy Run. Then at 11:30 cruise up to the Northtowne Winco Parking Lot to join with the Old Slammers of Reno.

- That same day, from 11 until 3 p.m. the Old Slammers of Reno is hosting the 12th annual Toys for Kids. This meet is a benefit for the Children’s Cabinet.

• This week’s meet for Trucks & Tacos of Northern Nevada is a 6:30 Tuesday evening. Location is Chema’s Real Tacos at 1845 Prater Way in Sparks.

• Want to give a special shout out to Zeigler Brothers Racing as the team finished 3rd in the 2WD Trophy Truck Class at last week’s BAJA 1000. Paul Ziegler is a partner in Reno Motor Sports, helped found MRANN and races on four wheels now with this brother David and Chuck Dempsey.
