RENO, NV (NOV. 19) — As November winds down we’re heading into the Re-Run Zone. Not all is lost as there are still car meets, ride days sand some racing on TV as well as the Internet.
CAR MEETS:

• The weekend begins at 8 a.m. when Kim’s Cruisers meet at Kim’s Donut and Tea House. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

• On Friday, starting at 6:30 p.m. Carson Cars & Coffee has a meet. It’s called Chilly Friday Night Dutch meet and the location is the Dutch Brothers Coffee Stand located at 1231 South Carson Street, by the Carson Mall.

• Things are pretty slow this week before Thanksgiving but on Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. Sparks Cars & Coffee has its second meet of the month. Location is the Starbucks off Disc Drive, at the south end of Spanish Springs by the hill.
RACING (4-WHEEL):
• All the region’s oval tracks are on their winter break until spring time.

• In a couple of weeks Legacy Racing Association will stage their Desert Showdown. Location is outside of Pahrump, Nevada.
PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):
• When this article was posted REP Racing MX had not published their usual graphic showing the weekend’s schedule. So be sure to check the Face Book pages for Riverfront MX and Prairie City MX as things might change.

However the Sandbox MX in Fernley will be busy; Saturday, from 9 until 2 its another DCMX Ride Day then Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m., there is open practice.
- Remember one has to register for each day at, www.repracingmx.com. Be sure to check with Riverfront MX and Prairie City before heading out.

• This weekend MMX Racing has practice from 9 until 2 Saturday on the Main, Sand and Kid’s Tracks. Then on Sunday, from 9 until 3 p.m. the Vintage track is added into the mix.

• E Street MX Park should have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Before heading out be sure to check their Face Book page.

• For those that raced in the P.R.O. Motocross series the awards ceremony is on Friday. Location is the Five30 Event Center in Marysville.
RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):
• On Thursday the RACER network will have part 2 of the Bathurst 1000 for the Australian Supercars series.
• This weekend Formula 1 is in Las Vegas. On Thursday starting at 4:25 p.m. ESPN+ has Formula 1 practice #1 then at 6 p.m. they show Formula 1 Academy practice. At 7:55 p.m. ESPN 2 has the second Formula 1 practice and at 9:30 ESPN + has Formula 1 Academy qualifying.
• Friday begins at 3:25 p.m. when ESPN + has the third Formula 1 practice this is followed at 6:15 when the network airs the first Formula 1 Academy race. Then at 7:55 p.m. ESPN 2 has Formula 1 qualifying.
• Saturday starts at 4:20 p.m. when ESPN + airs the Formula 1 Academy Race.

- Then at 7:00 p.m. ESPN + has the Formula 1 Pre-Race show. Finally at 7:55 p.m. ESPN airs the Formula 1 race from Las Vegas.
• Sunday is a dead day for live racing but one can check out other sources. They include www.fanschoice.tv, www.mavtv.com, www.dirtvision.com, www.floracing.com, and one can see race highlights on www.youtube.com.
That’s it for this weekend. Should be nice weather for the weekend but on the cool side. Do try and attend a car meet as you’ll see some great vehicles and meet wonderful people.

OTHER RACING NEWS:
• During this season there are many charitable happenings like food, coat and even clothing drives. On the weekend of the 6th and 7th of December there are toy drives for the motorcycle and car communities.

- Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m., Reno Harley-Davidson has “Cookies with Santa,” for the kids. It only takes a small donation or unwrapped toy for this.

- Sunday begins when Reno Cars & Coffee has the 10th annual Toy Run. At 11:30 they’ll cruise to Northtowne Parking lot to meet with the Old Slammers.

- Also starting at 10 a.m. Sunday is the 45th annual Reno Toy Run. Starts at Reno Harley-Davidson and at noon Santa leads a convoy to the Convention Center.

- Up at the Northtowne Winco Parking Lot the Old Slammers of Reno hosts their 12th Annual Toys for Kids drive. Times are 11 to 3 p.m. and they’ll be joined by those cruising in from Reno Cars & Coffee. They ask that people bring an unwrapped toy as drive benefits the Children’s Cabinet.
