RACING & CAR MEET PREVIEW: DED.4 TO 7

RENO, NV (Dec. 3) — Here we are starting the final month of 2025. We’re entering the  end of the year Re-Run Zone but there are still car meets and some racing left.

CAR MEETS – TOY RUNS:

Once again Kim’s Kruisers gets the weekend rolling.

• Thursday begins around 8 a.m. when Kim’s Kruisers have their weekly meet. Location is Kim’s Donuts & Tea House at 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

Cookies with Santa on Saturday is part of the Reno Toy Run.

• Saturday, from noon until 3 p.m., it’s Cookie with Santa at Reno Harley-Davidson. They ask one bring an unwrapped toy or donation as it’s part of the annual Reno toy Run.

Saturday evening is when the Very Fernley Christmas Parade plus tree lighting happens.

• While not a car meet as such Saturday is when A Very Fernley Christmas Parade happens. The parade begins at 5 p.m. with the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m.

Down in Gardnerville on Saturday its the annual Parade of Lights.

• Down in Gardnerville, starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, it’s the annual Parade of Lights. They also have cars & trucks in this parade. 

Reno Jeeps & Coffee meets Sunday morning.

• Sunday is a very busy day and it begins at 10 a.m. when Reno Jeeps & Coffee meets at the Human Bean Coffee Stand on the corner of Longley and South McCarran.

Reno Cars & Coffee has its 10th annual Toy Run starting on Sunday.

• Another event starting at 10 a.m. is the 10th Annual Toy Run hosted by Reno Cars & Coffee. They will meet by the Human Bean Coffee stand at 3380 Keitzke Lane and at 11:30 head for the Winco Parking lot at Northtowne.

The 45th annual Reno Toy Run is on Sunday and starts at Reno Harley-Davidson.

• Probably the largest event is the 45th Annual Reno Toy Run that begins at 10 a.m. at Rene Harley-Davidson. Once again folks are asked for a donation or to bring an unwrapped toy. 

Those registered receive a t-shirt and meal ticket for lunch at the Convention Center. At noon Santa will lead a convoy to the Convention Center.

There is a silent auction to help benefit the Reno Toy Run.
  • For the off-road types there is a Silent Auction to benefit the Reno Toy Run. Bidding is going on now and will close on December 7 at the end of the toy run event.

• The Old Slammers of Reno is hosting the 12th annual Toys For Kids 2025 event in the Winco Parking lot at Northtowne. Here again one is asked to bring either an unwrapped toy or make a donation. 

On Sunday the Old Slammers of Reno is hosting Toys for Kids that benefits the Children’s Cabinet.

Times are 11 to 3 p.m. and around 11:30 they’ll be joined by Reno Cars & Coffee. This event benefits the Children’s Cabinet.

RACNG (4-WHEEL):

• While the region’s oval tracks and drag strip are closed for the winter there is one more off-road race to go.

Legacy Racing Association ends its season with the Desert Showdown this weekend.

This weekend Legacy Racing Association ends its year with the Desert Showdown in the Pahrump area. All the classes are represented.

RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

REP Racing MX has a busy weekend.

• REP Racing has a busy weekend with Riverfront MX having Thursday practice from 4 until 9 p.m. then Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. having open practice.

PC MX from 9 until 2 p.m. has open practice Saturday and Sunday. 

The Sandbox MX has a private DCMX Vet Ride day from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday. Then on Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m., there is open practice.

MMX Racing has practice Saturday and Sunday.

• MMX Racing on Saturday has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. on the Main, Sand and Kid’s tracks. Then on Sunday, from 9 until 3 p.m. the Vintage track is added to the mix.

E Street MX Park has a Sierra OTHG Ride Day and Toy Drive this Sunday.

• E Street on Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. has OTHG Ride Day and Toy Drive. Once again toys or a donation is asked for. This is for Sierra members only.

RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

• Thursday at 5 p.m. is when RACER airs Tony Kanaan in the Racer’s Unchained program.

• Friday the ROKU Channel has Formula E practice from Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

The ROKU Channel on Saturday has Formula E practice #2 at 2:30 a.m. followed at 4:40 a.m. with qualifying an at 9:05 a.m. the race.

• On Sunday, starting at 4:55 a.m. ESPN has the Formula 1 race from Abu Dhabi. Once again the series is in the Middle East.
