RACING & CAR MEET PREVIEW: DEC.11 TO 14

RENO, NV (Dec. 10) — Well the holidays are upon us and we’re truly in the Re-Run Season. Still there are car meets plus other things locally happening.

CAR MEETS: 

Once again Kim’s Kruisers gets the weekend rolling.

• Thursday morning around 8 a.m. is when Kim’s Kruisers visits Kim’s Donut and Tea House. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

This Friday and Saturday evening Carson Cars & Coffee meets at the Dutch Brothers Coffee Stand in Carson City.

• Carson Cars & Coffee has a double header this weekend. On Friday, at 6:30 p.m., they meet at the Dutch Brothers Coffee stand located at 1231 South Carson Street in Carson City. Then they have an encore on Saturday at the same time and place.

Vintage Euro Cars & Coffee asks people to bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.

• Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. is when Vintage Euro Cars & Coffee has a meet. Location is at the south end of Summit Mall by the new Starbucks. They are also asking people to bring an unwrapped toy to help Toys for Tots.

Hot August Nights is having its final holiday warehouse sale on Saturday.

• Hot August Nights is having its final holiday warehouse sale from 10 until 2 p.m. Saturday. They not only have 2025 items but 2024 items as well. Location is 290 Gentry Way, Suite #1 in Reno.

Sparks Cars & Coffee meets Sunday morning.

• On Sunday, from 10 until noon, Sparks Cars & Coffee will host its first meet of the month. Location is by the Starbucks at 171 Disc Drive.

RACING (4-WHEEL):

Registration is open for the 2026 King of the Hammers.

• For those that compete in the King of the Hammers off-road event, registration is now open.  For further information please check, www.kingofthehammers.com.

• All oval racks in our region are currently shut down for the winter. In a couple of weeks this site will post as many schedules as possible.

PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):

Saturday is Customer Appreciation Day at Moto Source.

• For those looking for things to buy gifts or other items Moto Source is having a Customer Appreciation Sale on Saturday. Things get going at 10 a.m. and there is free cookies, hot cocoa and Coffee.

The motocross track at Reno-Fernley Raceway is having its final practice of the year on Saturday.

• Saturday, from 9 until 2 p.m., is the final practice session on the motocross track at Reno-Fernley Raceway. They plan for a more consistent schedule in 2026 and will also include Sundays.

• REP Racing has a full schedule for its tracks. Riverfront MX has open practice from 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday. Then Saturday, from 9 until 2 p.m., is DCMX Ride day and Sunday, at those same times, has open practice.

REP Racing has a full schedule this weekend.
  • PC MX has open practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Sandbox in Fernley has open practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday but remember to register first.
MMX Racing has practice Saturday and Sunday.

• MMX Racing from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday has open practice on the Main, Sand and Kid’s tracks. Sunday’s practice times are 9 until 3 p.m. with the Vintage track added to the mix.

The final round of the AMP series will be at E Street MX Park this weekend.

• E Street MX Park hosts the final round for the AMP Triple Crown. It’s a full weekend of racing for this track.

RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• All the series are off for now but there are places to check for reruns and highlights. They are www.mavtv.com, www.speedsport.tv, www.speedsport.tv, www.floracing.com, www.racexr.com, and of course www.youtube.com.

That’s it for this weekend. While we still have mild weather please get out to one of the car events unless you’re going to practice on a dirt bike. You’ll meet some great people at any of these events.

• Wanted to give up a head’s up on two awards banquets that are on either side of New Year’s Day.

Battle Born MX has its award’s banquet on New Year’s Eve.
  • On New Year’s Day Battle Born MX is holding its 2025 Annual Banquet. They will honor those from the Spring and Fall Series. Location is at Need2 Speed on the Northtowne Mall.
MRANN has its awards banquet on January 3rd.

• MRANN will host its 2025 Banquet four days later on January 3rd. Things get going at 4 p.m. with the program following that. Location is at Boomtown.

Davey’s American Racing covers all kinds of oval track racing.

He also posts schedules for various tracks and there related subjects.
