RENO CARS & COFFEE + LOW RIDER SHOW

RENO, NV (Dec. 21) — One car meet and the fourth annual Low Rider show were on tap today. While the threat of weather had an effect on one, the other was nice out of the wind inside the National Automobile Museum.

• The threat of incoming weather keep the turn out low for the month’s final Reno Cars and Coffee meet. Still there were some cars to admire.

This Subaru had a pretty nice paint job.

One with an interesting paint scheme was a Subaru. Great paint and striping on the body.

The strip theme plus other items were part of this Subaru.

This continued at the back with a wing and diffuser at the bottom of the body.

Very nice looking motor in this BMW.

There also was a black BMW on display. The hood was up so people could look at the motor.

These cars showed up ready for a cruise but due to the winds that was canceled.

Over at one end there were four imports that were ready to go. A cruise was planned but was canceled due to the wind.

Everyone that attended the meet got this beautiful reward from Mother Nature.

Except for a few drops the meet was dry. However Mother Nature rewarded those brave souls that showed up a wonderful rainbow to admire.

• Over at the National Automobile Museum has the fourth annual Low Riders Show. It will only be there until January 8 and they have some great looking cars on display from several car clubs.

This is a 1963 Impala.

Soon after one walks into Gallery 4 they find several cars displayed with floor lights to highlight them. Past that one will find this great looking 1963 Chevy Impala station wagon whose is in the Premiere Car Club.

This 1951 GMC Pick Up was the only truck on display.

Not far away is a 1095 GMC 3100 Pick Up. This beautifully restored pick up’s owner is in the Guilty Pleasures Car Club.

This Impala is showing how high its lift kit goes.

Several cars have lift kits including this lovely Impala hard top. Unfortunately I didn’t see any reference to a club, my apology to the owner if I missed it.

This 1968 Bel Air Wagon had a great paint job.

Next was this 1968 Bel Air station wagon with an impressive paint job. The owner Ricardo Rivas didn’t list a club.

This 1953 Chevy Sedan is a great restoration.

Along the wall was a 1953 Chevy 210 sedan. The owner is in the Viejitos Car Club and it’s another great restoration.

Another great paint job is on this 1983 Caddy.

Another great paint job is on this 1983 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. The owner is in the Street Wish Car Club.

This 1961 Impala is associated with the Frame Off Family.

There were a few cars from the Frame Off Family and this 1963 Impala is just one of them. It has a lift kit and like many the engine compartment is polished.

I’m only showing a few of the cars and many have polished engines as well as showing the lift machinery that is in the trunk area.

It’s a great way to get out of the weather and the show is just a highlight to what is in the museum. Please remember the Low Riders are only there through January 8.

On Tuesday evening Trucks & Tacos will meet at Cielito Lindo Taqueri off Lemmon Drive.

• This Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m., Trucks & Tacos of Northern Nevada meets at Cielito Lindo Taqueria. The location is 290 Lemmon Drive.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Finally I want to wish all of you readers my Season’s Best and my wishes for a very Merry Christmas. Be safe out there if you are traveling in this weather.
