RENO, NV (Dec. 24) — I will start by wishing all my readers, sponsors and friends a Very Merry Christmas. Hope it was a great day for all of you, now on to the preview that’s going to be a bit different.

CAR MEETS:

• Only one is on tap and that starts at 10 a.m. Sunday when Sparks Cars & Coffee ends the year with its second meet of the month. Location is by the Starbucks off of Disk Drive.
RACING (4-WHEEL)
• I finally have the schedules so we’ll begin with oval tracks in our region.

- Summit Raceway in Elko begins their season with a Prep & Play Day on April 25. After that the season kicks in and ends on October 3rd.

- Next, as we move west, is Battle Mountain Raceway. Their 2026 season begins on May 22 and ends in early September with the Silver Cup.

- Next is Winnemucca Regional Raceway. First race weekend is April 17/18 and the season ends on the 16/17 of October.

- Lovelock Speedway starts with a test and tune session on March 28 the April 25 is the first race. As usual they help celebrate Frontier Days and the season ends on the 9th and 10th of October

- Rattlesnake Raceway’s first race is the weekend of Apreil 10th & 11th and the Dirt Track Championships, on the first weekend in October ends their season.

- Rattlesnake Raceway has a small dirt oval on the infield where the Outlaw Karts race. The is a practice session on March 28th, first race is on April 11 and the season ends on September 12th with the final points race.
- To the south the Tonopah Speedway also has a schedule that begins on May 23rd with the annual Jim Butler Days race. The season ends the weekend of August 14/15 with the annual Jim Marsh Classic. To see the full schedule please go to www.tonopahspeedway.net and click events.

- To the north Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville starts 2026 on March 21 and April 4 with test & tune sessions. First race is April 25 with the last being on August 29/30 for the Championship Weekend.
• When this was posted the Northern Nevada Kart Club had not posted their 2026 schedule.
• As of now the oval and motocross track at the Reno-Fernley Raceway are dark. The MX track will reopen in the spring but the oval will remain dark until a manager is found.

• The Northern Nevada Racing Association operates the Good Times Drag Strip in Winnemucca. There is a track clean up on May 9th then racing in June, July and finally at the end of August.

• Top Gun Dragstrip opens its season on May 15/16, NHRA Open is the weekend of May 28-31 and the final event is the Fallon 660 on the weekend of September 11 to 13.
PRACTICE & RACING (MOTORCYCLES)
• As of now E Street MX Park is checking on the weather and will update on Friday.

• MMX Racing hopes to have practice Saturday, Sunday and Monday. They ask you check on Friday for details.

• This weekend Riverfront MX will have open practice from 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting of course. PCMX is closed.

The Sandbox has changed its times to 10 until 3 p.m. Saturday is a DCMX Private Ride Day while Sunday is open practice.
• Our two local motorcycle series have their 2026 calendars out.

- BBMX is split into a Spring and a Fall Season. The spring starts at the Sand Box in Fernley on March 13 and end on July 30/31 at E-Street MX Park.

- The BBMX Fall series begins on August 22 at Riverfront and ends on November 8 at the Sandbox in Fernley.

- MRANN starts its 2026 season on January 31/February 2 with the Tankslappers race. The season ends on November 7/8 when the Rimbenders close out the year.

• For you Supercross fans there is a preview show this Saturday. The season begins on January 10 with Anaheim 1.

• Next week MMX Racing celebrates the New Year with the Hangover Classic on January 1st, which could be a warm up for the Frigid 8 series that begins on the 4th of January .
RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

• The run up to the Chili Bowl starts on December 29 when the Tulsa Shootout begins. These are Micro Sprints racing on an indoor track. The event is streamed on www.floracing.com.

• Next weekend the annual Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia begins. It is two weeks long and drivers have to be careful in certain areas as coming over a hill they might meet a herd of Camels.

• Next Wednesday, New Year’s Eve, Battle Born MX holds its 2025 Annual Awards Banquet. Times are 1 until 6 p.m. and location is Need2Speed at Northtowne, where Winco is.

• On Saturday, January 3, MRANN will have its 2025 Banquet at Boomtown. The event begins at 4 p.m. with dinner at 5:15 then after the intermission the Big Bike trophies will be handed out.

• One week later, Saturday, January 10, the Northern Nevada Kart Club hosts its Checkered Flag Celebration. The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Atlantis Paradise Ballroom on the second floor.
• Davey’s American Racing can be found on Face Book.

He also posts schedules for various tracks and there related subjects.
