SPARKS, NV (March 22) — The second meet of the month was highlighted by wonderful weather.

As a result there was a huge amount of cars, trucks, a few motorcycles and many fans.

Square Bodies, which are mostly pick-up trucks filled an entire row. These were made by Chevrolet years ago.

While not a square body, over on row was this beautiful Chevy Pick Up truck. Keeping with the vintage style even had white sidewall tires.

Even the motor was stock and cleaned up in this truck.

A bit newer was a Plymouth Duster. Like others it was all shined up and on display.

Not only was the body and interior of the Duster ready for display but so was its motor. That was as clean as the body was.

Another vintage sports car was this Jaguar E Type owned by Tony Mitchell.
Asked about the car he said, “It’s a 1969 E Type Convertible. I bought it at the Hot August Nights auction in 1995. It looked just like this then and I’ve done nothing to it except make it run right.

“Which mostly fixed things everybody before me screwed up. A loose wire here, a cut wire there. It needed points, condenser, cap rotor, wires and plugs.”
He also changed out the original alternator, which was a Lucas unit that didn’t put out enough amps. He replaced that with a 65 Amp Delco unit.

Asked how it drives he said, “It drove really good when I got it. But you can tell the bushings and what not are starting to get tired so it kind of needs to be gone through again.”

Only a few motorcycles showed up. One was this Ducatti Monster.

Another vintage car was this VW Beetle. Like other cars on display it was bright and shiny.

Only one T-Bucket was there. It provided a nice contrast to the cars parked on either side of it.
Next weekend is the fifth one of the month. Usually most Cars & Coffee groups don’t meet on that Sunday. But there will be other groups, as well as things to do, so please check out my preview article on Thursday.
