RENO, NV (April 22) — Now that the mid week storm is out of the area our weather will be mild. This weekend tracks are starting their seasons while there is a bundle of car meets.
CAR MEETS:

• The weekend begins around 7 a.m. Thursday when Kim’s Cruisers meet at Kim’s Donut and Tea House. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

- That evening Gardnerville Cars & Coffee, at 6:30, meets at the Pizza Factory. Location is 1758 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

• This week Carson Cars and Coffee has another Friday-Saturday double header. On Friday the meet begins at 6:15 while Saturday starts at 6 p.m. Location for both is the Dutch Brothers Coffee Stand at 1231 South Carson Street.

• Saturday begins early at 8 a.m. when the Rustoration Garage presents the Fallon Spring Fling. It’s for cars, bikes and RCs. Location is the 3C Event Center at 227 Scheckler Road.

- That same day, starting at 6 p.m. Reno Cars and Classics has its first show at Sonic, which is located at 6250 South Virginia Street.

• Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. Sparks Cars & Coffee has its second meet of the month Location is by the Starbucks at 171 Disc Drive in Sparks.

- Later that day the Pharoahs are hosting the first Dessert in the Desert meet. It’s family friendly with food and music. Location is the Scoop or Two at 720 Highway 50 East in Dayton.
RACING (4-WHEEL):
• Saturday is a big day for oval tracks in our region.

- To the east Summit Raceway, in the Elko area is having a Prep & Play Day. Time to test the cars.

- Lovelock is starting its 2026 season Saturday. Things usually get rolling around 6 p.m. but the gates open earlier than that.

- To the north in Susanville, California the Diamond Mountain Speedway begins its racing season. Racing begins at 6 p.m. and its now the home track for the Sierra Nevada Sprint Car series. That’s only one of the six classes racing there.

• To the south Best in the Desert is hosting the Silver State 300. It’s based out of Tonopah and for further information please go to www.bitd.com.
PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):

• The biggest race in the area is the annual Virginia City Grand Prix. On Friday, at the fairground, they have the Mini Moto Grand Prix for the youngsters.

Saturday is when the Pros, Experts and Amateurs race. Then on Sunday its time for the Novice and those running the Red Loop Course, which is shorter for older riders.

• MMX Racing has a busy weekend as they host the 2026 CZ World Championships. Event starts Friday and goes through Sunday.
• E Street MX Park had not posted a schedule when this article was completed. They usually have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday but before heading out be sure to check their Face Book page.

• Two of REP Racing MX tracks are busy this weekend.
- Riverfront MX from 9 until 2 p.m. has DCMX Ride Days on Saturday then on Sunday, at those same times, its open practice.
- Prairie City is hosting the next round of the BBMX series. Saturday is usually for practice while Sunday is race day.

- The Sandbox in Fernley is closed for now as they need help. One thing needed is finding an experienced Dozer Operator.

RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• This week NASCAR is at Talladega and part of the schedule is behind a pay wall.
• On Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour followed by Speed.
• Friday at 5:55 a.m. Fox Sports 1 has the MotoGP Sprint race from Spain.

- At 10 a.m. Peacock has Race Day live followed at 4 p.m. with AMA Supercross from Philadelphia,

• Sunday begins at 4:30 a.m. when Fox Sports 1 has the MotoGP Race from Spain. Fox follows at noon with the NASCAR Cup race from Talladega, which can be a wild race.

- The weekend ends when Fox Sports 1, on a delayed basis, has the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals from Charlotte.

• Only a couple of weeks before Stadium GP returns to the Reno Rodeo Grounds. Now is the time save some time and buy your tickets.

- This coming Wednesday it’s Bike Night at PJ&CO with the Stadium GP folks. If you would like to volunteer you can get credentials as well as swag.

• I believe they still need volunteers at the Summer Salute Car Show that happens a month from now. The show benefits veterans and the contact information is at the bottom of this graphic.

• Part of the Summer Salute is the Pinup Girl Contest. The theme is Military Branch through time. For submissions please check the information at the bottom of the poster.
• Davey’s American Racing can be found on Face Book.

He also posts schedules for various tracks and there related subjects. On Thursday Davey will be live on Face Book and plans on resuming his broadcasts every Wednesday evenings.
