RENO, NV (Oct. 26) — Good weather highlighted two car meets and the final round of the Museum Cup championship.
REPORTER’S NOTE: Have to apologize for this being so late. Monday was busier than I thought.
•• Late Saturday afternoon is when Northern Nevada Classics hosted its 7th annual Trunk or Treat. After being by the Pizzava in Sparks there were some last minute changes.

-Shortly before the event began they were informed no candy could be given out in the parking lot. Thankfully the owners of Pizzava opened part their shop for this.

In the parking lot several cars were decorated including this Corvette Spider.

There was also a 1964 Chevy that was also decorated for the occasion. After getting candy kids wandered around checking out the cars.

Inside it was a bit crowded as the youngsters and parents came into gather treats.

The tables were full of all kinds of treats and many of the kids showed up in their Halloween costumes.

One father with two little ones helped them select treats and get those into their candy buckets.

•• Sparks Cars & Coffee hosted its second meet of the year Sunday morning. Once the turn out was not packed but there were plenty of cars.

The meet also featured pairs of cars. On one line there were two Chevy El Caminos parked side by side.

Decades ago NASCAR had a Grand National series and Buick built performance models using that name. A pair of black Grand National cars were parked together.

Sometimes there are some great vintage cars. One owner brought what I believe was a 1940’s era Chrysler sedan

One of the more unusual cars was this Honda 600. One of those at the meet said it was the firs Honda imported to the U.S.

By one of the trees there was a Dodge Viper parked next to a Ford Mustang.
Next week Reno Cars & Coffee as well as Reno Jeeps and Coffee start November off.

•• Sunday is when the championship round of the National Automobile Museum’s championship round was held. The winners of the People’s Choice awards had their cars on display for judging.
There were several cars on display and all od them won their earlier show:

- One was this 1957 Ford Fairland owned by Rory Planeta.

- Another was this 1931 Ford Model A sedan owned by Charlie and Kathy Schopper.

- There was this 1976 Chevy Stepside pick up owne by Joe Specchio,

- This 1955 VW Beetle is owned by Dennis Odgers.

- Tim Cleveland owns this 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville.

- This Ford GT500 Mustang is owned by Joe & Fan Wyatt.

- The 941 Plymouth Coupe is owned by Tony Lucero Jr.

The goal is to win the championship, which comes with a plaque and the winner’s name is added to the Museum Cup trophy. There is also a People’s Choice award as well as a Harrah’s award.
Winning the William F Harrah award was Charlie & Kathy Schopper. However their son Mark accepted it as Charile is in the hospital for a medical problem.

The People’s Choice award went to Tim Cleveland and his Cadillac.

Finally it was time to award the Museum Cup championship and Rich Crombie had the 2025 winners, Chris & Jessica Decker come up. They presented the trophy to Tony Lucero Jr., who also go the Grand Champion plaque.

Asked about this Lucero said, “I’m always humbled and honored any time I win any award. So I never expect anything and I’m just grateful and blessed that I’m able to do what I do and show what I have.”
He added members of his club West Coast Kustoms, were there and he was grateful they were supporting him.
