RENO, NV (November 1) — First part of the weekend was under threat of weather. Second part was cool so the turnouts were on the light side.

•• On Friday evening the Reno Bike Community held its final weekly ride for this year. Riders were encouraged to dress in a Halloween costume and some did.

There was also one dressed like a prisoner with black stripes on his outfit.

A couple of bikes had fake cobwebs on them.

Several riders used skeleton suits to ride in. Due to the cool weather the turnout wasn’t as big as it usually is.

•• Saturday, around noon, Summit Racing Equipment held a Trunk or Treat. Like many events the turn out was light. One participant, Sally Hazard brought her brother’s car as he was unable to attend.

She had a lot of goodies in the back. As group of kids arrived they went over and got some goodies.

There were also a car and pick up decorated with Pumpkins. Both had bowls of things for kids.

Summit used its trailer to hand out things. One more stop for the kids that arrived.

•• Over in Reno the Harley-Davidson dealer was having a function of its own. While the turnout was light but there was a food truck and vehicle that had goodies for the kids.

In side there were two Harley’s decorated in a Halloween theme.

Like many other youngsters one princess was able to score some treats from the van.

Several kids, in costume were handing out candies. The food truck had one of the staff dressed like a Nun.
•• Sunday welcomed November with two meets.

- Reno Jeeps & Coffee were by the Human Bean located at the corner of Longley Lane and South McCarran.

- One of the Jeeps was even decorated with a mixed holiday theme. The skeleton was wearing a Santa hat.

- There was a pretty turn out. Many discussions wee about what owners have done to improve the off-road abilities of their respective Jeeps.

•• Not far away by the corner of Kietzke and Moana Lanes it was the month’s first meet by Reno Cars & Coffee. They use the parking area between the Human Bean Coffee stand and Cal Ranch.

Due to the cool weather the turn out was on the low side but there were a variety of cars. In fact there was even a short BMW row.

On the exotic side there was a Lamborghini and one end. Closer to the Human Bean one owner bought his Lotus, both cars got a lot of attention from the spectators.
One interesting car was an Audi with Revrally logos all over it.
Asked about the car owner Ethan Swenski said, “This is a 2008 Audi R8, got a V-8 and manual. It’s got some suspension work, straight pipe exhaust, that’s kind of it.

“These cars don’t need a lot as stock they are super, super driver focused. They come a little too soft, they are really quiet so you don’t really get a lot of excitement. That’s why I got the exhaust and the suspension as it makes it more harsh, race car like.”
Asked about Revrally he said, “I’m kind like a sales guy. Basically what we do is handpick a bunch of drivers with cool cars and it’s a four-day experience. We go on road trips, like this past rally we went up to Tahoe.
“We took all these back roads up around Frenchman’s Lake. Spent the night in Tahoe, from there we went to Sonoma, kind of a long drive through Roseville with all that traffic but once past there, its all back roads.
“We went to Napa, spent the night, from there it was Golden Gate Bridge and up the Gold Coast, stayed at Bodega Bay. Highway 1 driving is unlike anything else in the whole world.”
He added the next rally is in September of next year on the east coast. After that they’ll probably do another one on the west coast.
Those wishing more information can check their site at www.TheRevRally.com. He said one can register their car and they’ll send an e-mail if the car is accepted.

Even though it was a bit shorter than normal there was a Corvette Row.
