    MUSTANG, NV (Aug. 26): The Lucas Oil Off Road Series visited Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend for two days of fast, wild racing. Each day was a separate event in the series so Saturday was Round 9. One driver missing was Rob MacCachren as a family emergency had him turn around and rush back home. The rule allows a substitute driver to race in the place of one facing the emergency. It can be used once in a season and the points earned by the substitute go to the regular driver.     RENO, NV (Aug. 23) – This week we have another national event visiting our area plus regional racing. Over in TV World there are several events but some series are off before the big Labor Day weekend. The major event will be at Wild West Motorsports Park, located off I-80 east of Sparks.     CARSON CITY, NV (Aug. 19) – For the second year in a row the Carson Flat Track races returned to the Fuji Park rodeo arena. And like last year the afternoon and evening shows were a blizzard of heats and main events. This year however there were a couple of challenges that had to be dealt with. After the 250/500 Outlaw Kart main won by Jacob Dias driving a 500cc machine after he finally got past second place 250cc driver Ollie Gibbins.       QUINCY, CALIF. (Aug. 13) – American Valley Speedway ends the Plumas County Fair with a traditional race on Sunday night.     LOVELOCK, NV (Aug. 5) – Lovelock Speedway helps this small rural Nevada town celebrate its founding every year. The festival is called Frontier Days and this is the 100th anniversary of the town’s founding. And this year the two-day show, known as the Frontier Days Races had its first visit by the Nevada Pro Stock Association.     STEAD (Aug.7) – Desert Park Raceway echoed with the sounds of racing Sunday as the Northern Nevada Kart Club held a make up race for one that was rained out. While there no shifter karts were on hand, those that competed put on a good show and there were two surprise winners.     FERNLEY (July 29 – After being dark since last fall the Fernley 95A Speedway came alive this weekend. The event was round 10 of the Sprint Car Challenge, which usually races in the Northern California region.     QUINCY, CALIF (JULY 22) – The American Valley Speedway had a two-day show one week after the Pro Stocks visited. Saturday was a night of some hard racing, with more cars than usual and a wild IMCA feature.
