    Racing preview for this week still has a varied menue of live and delayed events including the final race in our region that brings racing in Northwest Nevada to a close. The curtain comes down on racing in our region this weekend. The final race in this fall’s Motocross Series will be held in Winnemucca. Practice runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday then at 9 a.m. Sunday the first motos are scheduled to begin.     Racing preview still has a variety of events for the race fan even this late in the year. As the season winds down there are still a couple of events to go in our region. This weekend MRANN will stage its final race of the season outside of Winnemucca. As usual things start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday followed by the Women/Mini Bikes/Bomber race.     Racing Preview for this weekend is still varied although various series are heading for their final events of the season. Racing is winding down in Northern Nevada but there is one local event this weekend. Livfast Exit 28 is hosting the third round of the spring motocross season. Practice is on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Then on Sunday gates will open at 6 a.m. followed by practice sessions with a hoped for 9 a.m. start to the motos.       Racing Preview has another varied menu even though racing is winding down. This week still has some local events, even though the season is winding down.     Racing preview for this week is a buffet of different types of racing, live, on TV and the Internet. There is a varied menu for racing fans in this area with three different live events to fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Northern Nevada Kart will bring down the curtain on their season with the annual night race at Desert Park Raceway. Practice begins around 4 p.m. and after qualifying racing will begin as they roar into the night. Any championships that are up for grabs will be decided by the time the final checkered flag waves.     Racing preview for this week has something for just about every race fan. And one traditional event, not returned to its original venue is doing something special to honor the sport’s history. With Labor Day weekend here, one regional track is ending its 2015 season while another is continuing on. With few races left in the season points are becoming critical for many drivers. This week local racing is a bit on the slim side but there still is one track in operation.     This week’s racing has a mix of two- and four-wheel action in our region. The Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track will be in action as MRANN ends its spring desert-racing season. It’s the annual Corey Herring Memorial race but this time in a short track configuration.   On Saturday, from 8 to 10 a.m. the big bikes can practice then at 10:30 a.m. the Pee Wee riders take center stage.     Octane Fest brings color and speed to Fallon. The Octane Fest rolls into Fallon this weekend for three days and evenings of action packed motorsports. In addition two regional tracks will also be staging their own races.     What’s racing this weekend is packed days of motorsport action that has something for almost anybody. If the weather holds local race fans are in for a treat.     This weekend’s racing will be a little less frantic that it was on Memorial Day Sunday. But there still is a pretty good variety for fans to choose from.   This afternoon there is a special event for youngsters. The AC/DC Bike Camp has demonstration rides at the Double Diamond Athletic Club.
