    TIEARNEY SWEEPS PROS AT MOTOCROSS   FERNLEY (April 12) – The spring motocross series ended here Sunday. And it was the first event put on by the newly reformed Old Timers chapter. Both president Jeff McCollum and Eric McElroy, with assistance from the Over the Hill Gang set the stage for a day of hard racing at the Sandbox, or the Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track.   • 4TH ANNUAL SANDBOX GRAND PRIX

    Fernley (March 29) — Four years ago MRANN and the local OTHG combined forces for the initial Sandbox Grand Prix. It’s a day full of motocross action on an 2.5 mile long course that ends with a team race. There are no points, money only bragging rights and a trophy. And its become one of the most anticipated fun events of the year. And once again the venue was the Sandbox or the Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track.   • MX ROCKS THE SANDBOX

    Fernley (March 8) — Motocross is back! Last fall there was only one race after the plug was pulled on the fall series. Over the winter local Over the Hill Gang members rolled up their sleeves, secured use of the Fernley Lion’s Motocross track and started helping the Old Timers chapter come back to life. Now both clubs along with Tim O’Brien at the Livfast Exit 28 track have breathed life back into regional racing with the first event of a shortened spring season being staged this weekend.   • RACING PREVIEW – MARCH 5-8

    This weekend motocross returns to our area. Over the winter two clubs and a track combined forces to ensure it would continue to be part of this area. The first race is this Sunday’s staged by the local Over The Hill Gang chapter with a 9 a.m. launch to the first moto. There will be a practice session Saturday for riders to shake the cobwebs off and get back into their groove.   • SPRING MOTOCROSS RACING IS ON

    Last fall SMRA pulled the plug on its fall motocross season. The Over The Hill Gang then took up the cause, thought they had a three-race series but that turned into a one-off race at Fernley. Over the winter the Gang has been working and is joined by the Old Timer’s Chapter so racing will return. Over the winter Gang president Layne Kolbet was able to secure use of the Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track, otherwise known as the “Sandbox.” And the club also helped the Lions when they were in need.   The Gang will host and stage the first

  • THE GANG HONORS AWARD WINNERS

    Sparks (Feb. 21) – Burg’s Victorian Bar was jumping Saturday night as Reno’s chapter of the Over The Hill Gang met to celebrate last season, honor its champions and announce plans for this coming season.   After watching the latest Supercross round everyone had a nice dinner than settled down for the awards.   Once special award is named for the late Harry Trainor, who was respected by his peers and always helped the club.   • GANG ROCKS THE SANDBOX

    FERNLEY (Oct. 26) — Things looked pretty grim for the local motocross scene when SMRA pulled the plug on its fall series late this summer.
