  • OTMX AT FERNLEY MOTOCROSS TRACK

    OTMX Hosted round two of the fall motocross series at the Sandbox on Oct. 11th. Here is a video of some of the starts during the morning. Lost track of so not sure about which class two of them are in. However most are correct. Looked like a great day to be racing and there was a wonderful rider count.   • HERRING MEMORIAL AT THE SANDBOX

    HERRING MEMORIAL HONORS FALLEN RIDER AND ENDS SPRING SEASON FOR MRANN. FERNLEY (June 21) – The Herring Memorial race on Father’s Day weekend honors a young rider that was lost seven years ago. This time, the sixth anniversary race, was staged at the Sandbox, or the Fernley Lion’s Motocross Park using all the available track, so one loop was between two and three miles.   • OLD TIMERS AT THE SANDBOX

    TIEARNEY SWEEPS PROS AT MOTOCROSS   FERNLEY (April 12) – The spring motocross series ended here Sunday. And it was the first event put on by the newly reformed Old Timers chapter. Both president Jeff McCollum and Eric McElroy, with assistance from the Over the Hill Gang set the stage for a day of hard racing at the Sandbox, or the Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track.   • MX ROCKS THE SANDBOX

    Fernley (March 8) — Motocross is back! Last fall there was only one race after the plug was pulled on the fall series. Over the winter local Over the Hill Gang members rolled up their sleeves, secured use of the Fernley Lion’s Motocross track and started helping the Old Timers chapter come back to life. Now both clubs along with Tim O’Brien at the Livfast Exit 28 track have breathed life back into regional racing with the first event of a shortened spring season being staged this weekend.   • GANG ROCKS THE SANDBOX

    FERNLEY (Oct. 26) — Things looked pretty grim for the local motocross scene when SMRA pulled the plug on its fall series late this summer. However the Reno chapter of the Over the Hill Gang had other ideas.   After a planned five-race series had to be scrubbed the club gathered its forces and staged a one-off race this weekend at the Sandbox, or Fernley Lions Motocross Track as its officially known. “We decided it was time to have a race,” said Layne Kolbet, president of the OTHG chapter.
