    Racing preview for this week has something for just about every race fan. And one traditional event, not returned to its original venue is doing something special to honor the sport’s history. With Labor Day weekend here, one regional track is ending its 2015 season while another is continuing on. With few races left in the season points are becoming critical for many drivers. Fernley 95A Speedway hosts its second race in as many weeks, starting at 6 p.m. Saturday and all the car classes will be in action.   • MOTORSPORT PREVIEW – MARCH 12-15

    Now that the season’s first motocross race is in the books riders are looking forward to the second round at the Livfast Exit 28 track, located east of Sparks. There will be practice from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday then short sessions Sunday morning with a 9 a.m. start to the first motos. The track is being worked on and watered all this week so the dirt should be great.   • MOTORSPORT PREVIEW – FEB. 26 – MAR. 1

    Once again television is ripe with various races and so is the Internet. And locally the second race of the year happens this weekend. This weekend MRANN journeys toward Lovelock but the race area is actually about 20-miles along a good dirt road to a dry lakebed west of Toulon.   It’s the Wide Open 120 held at Blue Wing Flat, Nevada. As usual the Pee Wee riders begin the weekend on Friday when their race begins at 9:30 a.m. followed at 11 a.m. by the V-Women, Mini bikes, Bombers and Vintage bikes.   • MOTORSPORTS PREVIEW – FEB. 12-15

    Racing returns to this area as MRANN stages it’s first event of the season this weekend. The action begins at 10 a.m. when the Pee Wees start followed by the Saturday Women and Mini Bikes.   • RACING PREVIEW – DECEMBER 4-7

      Biggest happening in Nevada is down south where NASCAR has invaded Las Vegas for its Sprint Cup Championship week. And on Wednesday it was announced that Fox Sports and NBC Sports are combining forces to televise NASCAR events. The agreement is for 10-years with Fox doing the first half of the season, including the Daytona 500 and NBC Sports taking the second half, which will include the Chase for the Championship.
