RACING PREVIEW: APRIL 5 TO 8

RENO, NV (April 4) – This week’s Racing Preview literally has a cloud over it, as least for our region. A storm slated to hit our area Friday and Saturday has canceled at least one event and maybe more so just be aware of that.

Fernley 95A Speedway

Fernley 95A Speedway graphic. Depending on the weather the track will start it’s 2018 season this weekend.

If all goes well Fernley 95A Speedway will begin its 2018 season Saturday. The track’s Face Book page is a good place to check and they are encouraging people to buy your tickets and pit passes online.

The driver’s meeting is scheduled for 2:30 with a 3 p.m. start to racing. Here again weather may be a factor so please check a head of time.

Battle Born MX, was supposed to run the next round of its spring motocross series has already canceled Sunday’s race at the Honey Lake Motocross track. They hope to reschedule it in the near future.

Further north the MRANN series will run the 2810 Diamond Back Hare and Hound. The Lassen Motorcycle Club is the host and the site is Dry Valley, Nevada.

MRANN

Saturday begins at 10 a.m. with the Pee Wee race followed by the Mini Bikes/V Women/Bomber event, which is followed by the Team Races. Sunday’s big bike race begins at 10 a.m. and riders have to complete one of the 48-mile loops to be classed as a finisher.

There are two ways to go but one of this is for 4X4 trucks so please check the directions on the attached poster. MRANN usually races no matter what the weather is.

Depending on the weather the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) plans to have its organized practice Sunday, April 8 along with the racing seminar hosted by Jacob Clari.

Sparks Cars and Coffee

Sparks Cars & Coffee will have its monthly meet starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Finally, for this area, Sparks Cars and Coffee will have its monthly meeting starting at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Sparks Dunkin’ Donuts. Should be a good gathering of cars to check out.

Over the hill in Northern California Rep Racing has been told to clear the E Street MX Park because the river and releases from the upstream dam should raise to go from levee to levee. Practice sessions at Riverfront and Prairie City are up in the air so be sure to call the hot line (775-265-7223) before heading out.

To the south there are two off road races. The first is the Best in the Desert UTV World Championships that runs from April 5 to 7 in Laughlin, Nevada. Further south in Mexico SCORE is running the San Felipe 250 on April 5 to 8 for that event.

Now that the Easter recess is over racing once again is ramping up across the country and overseas as well.

On Thursday Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub at 3 p.m. then ESPN 2, at 6:30 p.m., has NHRA in 30.

Down in Las Vegas some NHRA stars are having an autograph session. A good chance for fans to meet the drivers.
