RACING PREVIEW: SEPT 6 TO 9

RENO, NV (Sept 5) – This week’s Racing Preview has a few Show N’ Shines as well as racing that’s restarted after taking Labor Day weekend off. There is also a bunch to watch on TV and stream on the Internet.

CRUISE/SHOW N’ SHINES:

  • The Silver Sage High School Booster Club hosts its 15th annual Show N’ Shine Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Silver Springs. For more information please call Joy at 75-220-7422.

  • On Sunday by Dunkin Donuts the Sparks Cars and Coffee, from 10 until noon will have its second of the month get together. Great time to meet fellow car people and see some great machines

The Dunkin Donuts is located by the Sparks Target store.

RACING (REGIONAL):

Battle Mountain Speedway

The Silver Kart Classic at Battle Mountain Speedway has been cancelled.

  • Sad news. The Silver Kart Classic schedule for Friday and Saturday evenings at Battle Mountain Raceway has been canceled. Apparently there were not enough entries to make it cost effective.

•    Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon, starting at 6 p.m. has another point’s race for the cars as well as mud drags.

•    We here at nvracingnews.com want to extend out best wishes to our Nevada drivers competing in Boone, Iowa at the 36th annual IMCA Super Nationals. And we want to extend out best wishes to our local kart racers that are competing in the IKF Grand Nationals in Fresno this weekend. Hope they can bring home a Duffy or two.

•    Two motorcycle series kick off their fall seasons this weekend and both will be in the Winnemucca area.

MRANN

Gold Diggers MC Club kicks off MRANN’s fall series this weekend.

Gold Diggers MC is hosting the MRANN race north of town. Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. is when the Pee Wees, followed by the Mini Bikes, Saturday Women and Bombers race.

Then on Sunday, starting at 10 a.m., is when the big bikes take to the long 34 mile course where the winners will to three laps.

 

Only a few miles to the southwest of there is the motocross track where Battle Born MX begins its fall series.

Battle Born MX begins its fall season this weekend.

Saturday is for practice, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. while on racing starts at 9 a.m. Sunday after the 8 a.m. practice session.

Over the hill there is one race plus practice sessions at three motocross track in Northern California.

Prairie City is hosting the final round of its Stadiumcross series this week. From 5 to 10 p.m. there is an all bike practice session.

On Saturday, race day, gates open at 2 p.m., practice is at 4 p.m. with racing to follow.

Riverfront has practice sessions from 5 until 10 p.m. Thursday and from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday. Over at E Street MX Park they have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

PJandCo announcement.

Meet and Greet for Ty Tremaine and Reece Honea at PJandCo.

On September 22nd the Endurocross series visits the Livestock Events Center. Two local riders, Reece Honea and Ty Tremain are competing in the series and on Wednesday, September 19 PJandCo is hosting a meet and greet with both riders.

Their bikes will be on display, there are free tickets that can be won as well as raffle prizes. The meets runs from 6 until 8 p.m. and it’s a great time to say hello to these two local racers.

RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

  • Thursday has two NASCAR programs with NASCAR America starting at 2 p.m. on NBC Sports followed on Fox Sports 1 at 3 p.m. with NASCAR Race Hub.

•    Friday is pretty slim but at 11:05 NBC Sports has Xfinity practice from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

If you want to get caught up on some missed races then try www.youtube.com or www.fanschoice.tv .

•     Saturday gets busy starting at 7:30 a.m. when NBC Sports has NASCAR Cup practice followed at 11:15 with Xfinity practice. Then at noon the network has that race followed at 3:15 p.m. by NASCAR Cup qualifying.

Over on www.imsa.tv there is qualifying from Laguna Seca where the IMSA Weathertech Sports Car are going to race.

•     Moving over to www.fanschoice.tv there are several events that will be streamed on Saturday.

Things get going at 12:30 p.m. with American Flat Track Harley-Davidson race from Williams Grove Half-Mile. This is followed at 3:05 by the IMSA Continental Tire Challenge race from Laguna Seca

Next up starting at 3:45 are two short track events starting at Meridan Speedway and finishing at Langley Speedway.

•     Back to TV Land as NBC Sports, starting at 11 a.m., has the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race from Indy, or the Brickyard 400.

CBS Sports also has a line up for Sunday starting at 9 a.m. with a Pirelli World Challenge race followed by a German Touring Car event from Europe.

•     Once again on Tuesday be sure to listen or stream the Teresa’s Garage Radio Show. All things automotive are covered including news.
