RENO, NV (5-31) – Now that Memorial Day is behind us it’s time to look ahead to June. With the unofficial start of summer this week there is a bunch of events and racing to come.

• On Friday, starting around 4 p.m. Summit Racing Equipment, located at 960 East Glendale Ave. in Sparks, has another of its cruise nights. Many times people will have their cars on display then group up for a cruise.

While there is no Fernley Main Street Cruise this time Lake Tahoe Cars & Coffee is having a meet starting at 5 p.m. at the Heavenly Village. These meets will probably happen every Friday through the summer. Hope to have the full schedule soon.

The 2nd annual Cars & Stripes car show is on Saturday. It’s just west of the freeway off Moana Lane.

• On Saturday there is a car show that benefits the Disabled American Veterans. Goes from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and it’s the 2nd annual Cars & Stripes, a classic car celebration. Location is in front of the Sportsman’s Warehouse located at 3306 Kietezke just off Moana and close to the freeway.

Nevada Inliners Chapter is having a car show Saturday in Minden.

• Northern Nevada Inliners Chapter is having “Rappin to Minden” car show. Its on Saturday at Minden Park, in Minden and registration begins at 9 a.m. and it’s a pretty low fee to participate.

• Since it’s the first weekend of the month on Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. Reno Cars & Coffee has a meet at the Keitzke Starbucks. Their meets have attracted a very large group of cars, trucks and motorcycles.   All of the cruises and meets are great place to meet car people and just enjoy seeing some great looking vehicles.

We now have eight very appreciated sponsors supporting this site. Please patronize them as they support your sport and help nvracingnews continue. And let them know you heard about them through this site.

Tread Connection is our newest sponsor and Blake Sobiloff owns the local franchise. The business brings the tire store to the customer so they don’t have to take time off work or even leave home. Once the tires are ordered Sobiloff picks them up and arrives where the customer’s car is in a van packed with state of the art equipment. He observes all safety precautions and it’s no contact so tires can be chosen and paid for online.

Another service he provides is scanning tires as that will tell if any alignment is needed. A useful service for fleet owners so they won’t find several vehicles need new tires at once. There are discounts for First Responders, veterans as well as active duty military and members of the National Guard and Reserves.

His primary area is Reno and Sparks and one can either go to the Face Book page or check the website at www.treadconnection.com. The direct line to the business is 775-870-3600.
