RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 2 TO 5

RENO, NV (Dec. 1) — A very full weekend as both car and motorcycle clubs join forces to help disadvantaged children in our area. There is also some racing as well just before we truly are in the end of the year Re-Run Zone.

 CAR & MOTORCYCLE MEETS:

RAD and Big Valley Honda are teaming up for the year’s last registration event plus helping the Reno Toy Run

The weekend gets rolling at 10 a.m. Saturday at Big Valley Honda at 225 Market Street. The dealership and Reno Area Dirt Riders have combined forces for an OHV Registration Drive as well as helping the annual Reno Toy Run.

Bring an unwrapped new toy and you’ll be entered in a drawing for a new 50-inch TV.

Testa Motor Sports not only is having a toy drive but it is a great place to watch Saturday’s Parade of Lights in Minden.

• Saturday evening is the annual Parade of Lights in Minden. The event starts at 4 p.m. and Testa Motorsports at 1581 U.S. Highway 395N will have food, drinks and fire pits. They also have a Toy Drive, that goes until December 20 so please be sure to bring an unwrapped toy with you.

Reno Cars & Coffee is having its 6th Annual Toy Drive this Sunday.

• Sunday’s triple-header begins at 10 a.m. when Reno Cars & Coffee has its 6th Annual Toy Run. The meet begins at the Keitzke Starbucks then at 11:30 they’ll cruise to the Northtowne Winco Parking lot.

That’s where 580 and North McCarran meet. The cruise meets and teams up with the Old Slammers of Reno Car Club.

The 41st annual Reno Toy Run is this Sunday. A good place to drop off toys is at Reno Harley-Davidson.

• This year the 41st Annual Reno Toy Run is a split event at the start. A toy donation box is at Reno Harley-Davidson, 2315 Market Place so if a person isn’t a rider they have a place to drop off an unwrapped toy.

The assembly point for Sunday’s Reno Toy Run is Summit Racing in Sparks.

Probably due to the construction along Market Street the Toy Run riders will assemble at Summit Racing, located at 960 East Glendale in Sparks. These motorcycle clubs will start the Toy Run at noon, with Santa leading, and should end up at the Convention Center.

The Old Slammers Car Club of Reno is having the 8th Annual Toys for Kids drive Sunday. The toys will be donated to the Children’s Cabinet.

• Up at the Winco parking lot at the Northtowne Center the Old Slammers of Reno Car Club will be holding their 8th Annual Toys for Kids event. Once again they need unwrapped toys that will be donated to the Children’s Cabinet.

No matter what a person drives or rides this weekend is a great time to help make a child’s Christmas a bit brighter.
