RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 16 TO 19

RENO, NV (Dec. 15)— We’ll there are still a couple of things plus some MX practice, at least on our side of the mountains. As far as TV goes we’re deep in the Re-Run Zone for the next few weeks.

 CAR MEETS:

Saturday is when the Nevada Jeep Club has the Carson City Christmas Convoy and Parade of Lights. Photo courtesy – Nevada Jeep Club

• The Nevada Jeep Club gets things going Saturday with the Carson City Christmas Convoy and Parade of Lights. The assembly point is on the frontage road by Carson Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram.

They want everyone there by 4:30 p.m. then the parade starts at 5 p.m. and proceeds north up Carson Street to Bullys. From there it heads back south to Carson Home Furnishing and dinner after that.

Great time to light up one’s Jeep and have a fun, if a bit cool parade through Carson City.

Reno Cars & Coffee has Cars for Tots Sunday at Muscle Motors.

• Sunday is when Reno Cars & Coffee has its next meet but this time in a different location. It is Cars for Tots, from 10 a.m. until noon and the location is Muscle Motors at 9501 South Virginia Street.

People are asked to bring an unwrapped toy, which will be donated to Ashlee’s Toy Closet. There will be raffles, trophies as well as coffee and doughnuts. Should be a great time for a good cause.

PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

With the moisture the MX track should be great for this weekend’s practice sessions. Photo courtesy – Photoflight Productions.

• Locally Fernley Ninetyfivea Motorsports Complex will have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Weather should be good although on the cool side.

Revised schedule for the final three rounds of the 2021 Triple Crown Series.

• Due to last week’s weather the final three rounds of the 2021 Triple Crown have been postponed and moved. Both Oatfield and Argyll MX will share those dates.

• No word on MMX Racing but if the tracks are dry enough they might have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday from 9 until 3 p.m. Sunday. However with the rain this week one should call their hot line before heading out. That number is 530-419-5200 or check their Face Book page.

• When this was posted REP Racing MX had not updated their hot line. They are waiting to see what the rains did to the tracks.

Best bet is to check the hotline at 1-775-265-7223 or the website is, www.repracingmx.com before heading out.

RACING (4-WHEEL)

• Since we’re in the Re-Run Zone there are places where one can get their racing fix taken care of. Of course one of them is www.youtube.com as they have highlights from several professional series. Other sources one might check, and they are all subscriber based, is www.floracing.com while another is www.speedsport.tv

Another is www.mavtv.com, which has a bunch of shows from shops to repeats of racing. On Saturday things get going at 9 a.m. with Goodwood Speedweeks Highlights 2021 and is followed by several other races. Then at 3:30 p.m. there is an ARCA Menards event, Sunday gets going at 3:30 p.m. and ends with On the Edge showing swamp buggy races.

That’s it for this weekend. Be safe out there with all the weather coming in next week. Other than that, have a great week and see you next week.
