RACING PREVIEW: JANUARY 13 TO 16

RENO, NV (Jan.12) — Here we are, halfway through January and there is racing. Overseas the Dakar Rally is heading for it’s final day this weekend while here in the U.S. the Chili Bowl is working its way to the mains on Saturday.

 In our immediate area we have a car meet while over the hill there is MX practice. Sure signs that spring and green flags are in the near future. 

CAR MEETS:

This Sunday, from 10 until noon, Reno Cars & Coffee has its next meet at the Human Bean, located by the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lane. Good freeway access and should be a good mix of cars to see. 

PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):

• After last week’s opener the Monster Energy Supercross series moves north to Oakland. Should be another night of crazy racing. 

The weekend’s schedule for the practice sessions at MMX.

• MMX Racing has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. on the main, sand and kids tracks. Then from 9 until 3 on Sunday adding the vintage track to the mix. 

•E Street MX Park has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Both the front and back tracks will be used. 

• REP Racing MX will also have practice sessions on two tracks.          

+ Riverfront MX Park  has practice from 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday. Then from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday on all the tracks.         

+ Prairie City has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 

RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL): 

• Once again Thursday is a dead day but a good time to catch up with various race that are shown on www.youtube.com or Face Book. 

• On Friday, starting at 2:36 a.m. there is 24 Hours of Dubai. A twice around the clock event ending Saturday morning and can be seen on www.motortrendondemand.com

• The Olympic Channel, starting at 4:30 a.m. has coverage from the 2022 DAKAR Rally in Saudi Arabia. It’s a wild event with everything from motorcycles to trucks and highlights can be seen on You Tube. 

Chili Bowl Nationals run through this Saturday.

• Saturday, starting at 5:30 p.m. www.mavtv.com will broadcast the finals at the Chili Bowl Nationals held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Another place to see the event is on www.floracing.com. 

Over on the USA channel, seen on cable, starting at 7 p.m. they’ll broadcast the Supercross round from Oakland, California.
