RACING PREVIEW: JANUARY 27 TO 30

 RENO, NV (Jan. 26) — Since it’s the fifth weekend of the month not much is happening locally except for one group. However racing is winding up both nationally, internationally and over the hill.

 CAR MEETS:

• No word if Carson Cars & Coffee is going to have a pop up event but always pays to check their Face Book page. 

Nevada Jeep Club is having a family friendly trail ride this Saturday.

• On Saturday the Nevada Jeep Club is having a family ride. It’s the Sunrise Pass Trail Jeep Run and the meeting is 9 a.m. at 1392 Johnson Lane in Minden. That’s the Johnson Lane General Store.  

RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

Remember we’re a week away from Arenacross coming to the Reno Events Center. It’s a Friday/Saturday event and if one wants to participate in the event to register go to, www.arenacrossusa.com

• The Motocross track at Fernley NinetyfiveA Speedway is still being worked on and Tyler hopes to have it open next weekend. 

MMX Racing weekend schedule.

• MMX Racing has it’s regular practice schedule for this weekend. Saturday’s practice is from 9 until 2 p.m., on the main, kid and sand track. Then from 9 until 3 p.m. Sunday with the vintage track added to the mix. 

• REP Racing has practice and a race this weekend. Riverfront has practice on Thursday from 4 until 9 p.m. then from 9 until 2 on Sunday using all the tracks. 

REP Racing’s is hosting its first race of the season.

• Prairie City is for Over The Hill Gang only and Saturday gates open at 7 a.m. with practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday is race day with gates opening at 6:30 a.m., practice begins at 8 a.m. with racing to follow. 

RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

• Things get rolling Thursday at 2:25 p.m. when www.imsa.tv broadcasts the Mazda MX-5 Cup race from Daytona. 

• Friday starts at 7:10 a.m. when IMSATV has the seond Mazda MX-5 Cup race from Daytona. At 8:30 a.m. CBS Sports has the Formula E race From Diriyah. Then at 10:35 a.m. Peacock has the BMW M Endurance Challenge from Daytona.

• Saturday is a busy starting at 8:30 a.m. when CBS Sports airs the second Formula E race from Diriyah. Then at 10:30 a.m. NBC broadcasts the start of the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car – Rolex 24 at Daytona. It’s a twice around the clock endurance event at the Daytona International Speedway. 

During the day Peacock and NBC and the USA network will host coverage of the event.

At 7 p.m. CNBC and Peacock will air the current round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross. This time its Anaheim 2 as the west coast swing ends as the series will head east. 

• Sunday is pretty light but the USA Network and Peacock are continuing their coverage of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Then at 9 a.m. NBC picks it up and goes through the finish of this event.

• Teresa’s Garage Radio Show is on the air from 2 until 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. In northwest Nevada, it can be heard over the air at 1060 AM.
