Friday night is another cruise in at the Summit Racing Equipment parking lot.

• Friday Summit Racing Equipment, at 960 East Glendale in Sparks has another cruise in. While the starting time is listed at 4 p.m. most won’t be there until 5 or later.

Baldini’s Casino and the VFW are teaming up for a BBQ and Car Show Saturday and Sunday.

• Saturday and Sunday, the VFW is having the BBQ Challenge/Show & Shine at Baldini’s Casino. Saturday is from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. then from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday.

• Sunday is when Reno Cars & Coffee has its first of the month meets. Starts at 10 a.m. and the location is by the Keitzke Starbucks. Usually had a good turn out of many cars and trucks.

Part of Sunday’s American Craft Fair in Reno will be an Auto Exhibit along Riverside Drive.

• Downtown Reno is having the Great American Craft Fair. On Sunday starting at 11 a.m. there will be a Auto Exhibit where cars are lined up on Riverside Drive east of Idewild Park.

There will be a car parade in Fernley on the 4th of July.

• On Monday there is the 2022 Fernley 4th of July parade and Car Show. The hosts are the Fernley Klazzic Kruizers.

Nevada Veteran’s Coalition will lead Fernley’s 4th of July parade.

The Nevada Veterans Coalition will lead the parade, which starts at 10a.m. There will be food, crafts and other things at the Out of Town Park on the east side of town. Apparently the fire works show there is one of the best.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

• Due to the rising costs of fuel and probably falling car counts the rest of this year’s Wild West Tour has been canceled. Promoters did thank those that tried to make it word and will look ahead to next season.

Economic conditions has forced the cancellation of this year’s Northern Nevada Shootout.

• Same economic conditions also canceled this year’s Northern Nevada Shootout.  RACING (4-WHEEL REGIONAL):

The Northern Nevada Winged Sprints will round out the show Friday and Saturday at Winnemucca Regional Raceway.

• Winnemucca Regional Raceway has two nights of racing this weekend. The cars start at 7p.m. each night. Rounding out the show are the Northern Nevada Winged Sprints that will be there both nights.

Diamond Mountain Speedway has three days of practice and racing this weekend.

• Diamond Mountain Speedway has three days of action this weekend. Saturday is test and tune day then Sunday and Monday’s racing begins at 4 p.m. with fireworks at the end of Monday’s action.

Rattlesnake Raceway has a Sunday/Monday weekend of racing. Sunday is when the town’s fireworks ends the show.

• Rattlesnake Raceway has a two-day show this weekend. Appearing will be the monster truck Airborne Ranger. Sunday’s program begins at 6 p.m. while Monday’s show starts at 5 p.m. and there will be the traditional fireworks show to end the night.

Rattlesnake Raceway has a special treat for a couple of lucky fans on both nights.

The track also has a treat for some lucky fans. They are working for a good purse for the upcoming Dennis Johnson Memorial race. So on Sunday and Monday two fans will ride in two Hobby Stocks during those main events.

RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

The motocross track will have practice sessions this weekend. Photo courtesy – Photoflight Productions.

• This Saturday and Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. the motocross track at Fernley NinetyfiveA Speedway will have practice sessions.  It’s a good way to save fuel, which is less expensive in Fernley than Reno is. And it’s close to home for local riders.

The weekend the Summer Sundayz series will be at the Oatfield track.

• Round 4 of the Pro MX Summer Sundayz will be run at Oatfield Raceway this Sunday.

• Unfortunately REP Racing had not updated their hotline when this report was posted. So going to guess that E Street MX will have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday while Riverfront MX will also follow that schedule.

Prairie City was down last weekend due to the water truck breaking down. For further information one can either try the hot line at 1-775-265-7223 or try the track’s Face Book page. Kind of frustrating not to get the weekend’s schedules or updates earlier.

RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• At 10 a.m. Thursday www.espn3.com has the Formula 1 Show from Silverstone, England.

+ Fox Sports 1 at 3 p.m. has NASCAR Race Hub. This week two series are on the road at Road America.

• Saturday gets rolling at 8:30 a.m. when CBS Sports has the Formula E race from Marrakesh.

+This week’s Pro Motocross event is from Red Bud and it will be split between two networks. Things start on www.mavtv.com when the first 450 moto is run at 10 a.m. followed at 11 a.m. by the first 250 moto.

Then NBC  takes over when at noon they show the second 450 moto followed at 1 p.m. with the second 250 moto.

+ At 11:30 a.m. the USA Network airs the Xfinity race from Road America. Over on Peacock at 11:45 that network shows Indy Car qualifying from Mid Ohio.

+ Saturday ends at 5 p.m. when CBS shows the SRX race from Stafford Springs. After last week’s show owner Tony Stewart apparently will give the drivers a good talking to before things get started. They’ll probably find out why his nickname is Smoke.

• Sunday starts early at 6:55 a.m. when ESPN 2 airs the Grand Prix of Britain from the classic course at Silverstone. This is one of the crown jewels of the globe trotting Formula 1 series.

+ Then at 9:30 a.m. NBC has the Indy Car race from the Mid-Ohio course. The USA network, starting at noon has the NASCAR Cup race from the Mid American circuit.

The IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car series is racing in Canada this weekend.

+ Finally NBC airs the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car race from Canada.

That’s it for this holiday weekend. Want to wish everyone a wonderful time and do give some thought about what Monday means to all of us.

May Old Glory fly freely on this 4th of July.

Happy 4th of July everyone.
