RENO, NV (Oct.16) – Reno Cars & Coffee had their second meet of the month. Weather was great and included in this report are the winners from the recent Dirt Track Championships at Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon.
This coverage of the current meet by Reno Cars & Coffee will be a bit different. Didn’t to any interviews but focused on comparisons, motors and one exotic car. And there were many.
There of course was an import line, more than one actually.
Close by was a new Ford Bronco parked next to a Pontiac Fiero. Quite a comparison between both vehicles built in different decades for different things.
Not far away was a vintage Citron parked next to a black Corvette. The owners of the Vette moved here from Tennessee and own another one.
There was also a Factory 5 car, looks like a racer and just might be with the decals and graphics on it. This is one of these cars that looks fast when its just sitting in a parking lot.
Now we come to motors.
Many times they are covered so it’s very hard to see them. This earlier model Vette is a good example.
One that leaves no doubt is in a 1975 Plymouth GTX. Looks like it’s read for both the road and drag strip.
There was a Shelby Mustang GT1. It too came with an impressive motor and I’m guessing has no problem going up or down the Mt. Rose Highway or Geiger Grade.
There was also a Ford with a 502 Motor in it but didn’t get too many details about that car.

• Now we’re heading into the Trunk or Treat season.
First one this reporter knows about it the 3rd Annual Trunk ’N Treat at Reno Town Mall, close to the Atlantis. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. and there will be music and prizes. Should be a great event for the kids as the actual Halloween this year falls on a Monday.
• The annual Dirt Track Championships, which ends the oval season for Northern Nevada tracks happened on October 7 and 8. Unfortunately this reporter was unable to attend.
First of all want to congratulate the2022 Dirt Track Champions. Heck of a way to end the season.

– Due to a scheduling conflict the Halloween race at Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville has been moved to Rattlesnake Raceway. This time it will be a Friday and Saturday night event on October 28 and 29. More information to come.
