RACING PREVIEW: NOVEMBER 24 TO 27

RENO, NV (Nov. 23) — Well here we are, Thanksgiving weekend and virtually all, with few exceptions, racing and car meets have stopped. Next week this will change.

But for now this will be short.

CAR MEETS:

• If all goes well, and the weather should be good, Sparks Cars & Coffee ends the month with a meet. As usual starts around 10 a.m. by the Starbucks off Disc Drive. Hope everyone can get out there.

PRACTICE (Motocross):

The motocross track will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 3 p.m. for practice.

• Good way to work off that turkey is at Fernley 95A Motorsports Complex. The motocross track will have practice from 10 until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

• Over the hill Riverfront MX is closed Thursday. Friday is for Sierra Old Timers from 9 until 2 p.m., the same time as Sunday’s Open practice

• Prairie City is closed Friday. Then there will be practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Oh and a head’s up as they have Toy Drive races the first weekend in December.

Both front and back tracks will be ready for practice on Saturday and Sunday.

• E Street MX Park has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and both the front and back tracks will be open.

• MMX Racing has another practice day starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

RACING (4-WHEELS):

• Well there is racing actually happening this week and weekend. Thursday and Friday Ventura Speedway is hosting the annual Turkey Grand Prix.

Racing features USAC Midgets and 360 Sprint cars and is held at the Ventura Fairgrounds. You can see Thursday’s races on www.floracing.com and the action begins at 3 p.m. each day.

• Then Overseas in Jeddah the FIA World Touring Car Cup series is in action. At 7:25 a.m. on Saturday www.motortrendondemand.com one can see qualifying.

Then on Sunday Race #1 starts at 8:30 a.m. followed at 11 a.m. with Race #2. The times are Pacific Standard times.
