RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 8 TO 11

RENO, NV (Dec. 7) — Well the holidays are here and weather is headed our way. So this weekend’s events are subject to either a weather delay, being canceled or maybe being blessed with a nice break.

CAR MEETS:

Saturday is the second Parade of Lights & Magical Fireworks Show on the Comstock at Virginia City.

• This Saturday, starting at 5 p.m. is the second Parade of Lights & Magical Fireworks Show up at Virginia City. It’s a great event but have to see if the weather Gods might get it postponed.

Depending on the weather Sparks Cars & Coffee will have a meet by the Starbucks off of Disc Drive. Photo courtesy – Charles Schaun Doyle.

• On Sunday, depending on the weather Sparks Cars & Coffee will host its first meet of the month. Starts at 10 a.m. and if it’s cold the location is right by the Starbucks off Disc Drive where they have great hot chocolate.

PRACTICE & RACING (Motorcycles):

• Fernley NinetyfiveA Speedway is closed this weekend due to the predicted weather. If things improve they’ll get the motocross track going again.

Depending on the weather MMX may or may not have the final round of this year’s Triple Crown series.

• This weekend MMX Racing is schedule to host the final round of the 2022 P.R.O. Motocross series. Camping begins on Friday, practice on Saturday and Sunday is race day. Of course this all depends on the weather but if it is canceled the rain date is the following weekend.

After looking at this REP Racing canceled the Saturday and Sunday practice sessions.

• The REP Racing MX tracks are very doubtful at this posting. So Riverfront and Prairie City will be closed. Hopefully things improve by next weekend

• E Street Motocross Park is in the same situation as the other Northern California tracks. Looks like Mother Nature is going to put the whammy on this weekend

RACING:

• We are going right into the annual “Re-Run Zone,” so series are taking a break right now. However if a person wants there is still some to be seen, just not live.

• One limited source is www.floracing.com while there are more races and events to be seen on www.youtube.com.

• One source to see some events not usually seen on TV is www.mavtv.com. They are also broadcasting, either live or repeats from Madera Speedway.

  • On Saturday at 9 a.m. there is Monster Jam followed at 10 a.m. by Round 6 of the Geico AMA Endurcross event from Reno. The overall championship was determined that night.
  • Then at 11 a.m. it’s Racer TV. Later at 5 p.m. from Lucas Oil Speedway it’s Saturday Night Racing.
  • Sunday gets going at 2 p.m. with Rally North America, both parts. Then at 3 p.m. there is a Trans Am race followed at 5 p.m. by both parts of the Silverstone Classic

That’s it for this weekend. Have to see what Old Man Weather has in store for us.

Until next time, have a good weekend, drive safe if the weather gets bad. See you all next week.
