RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 22 TO 25

RENO, NV (Dec.21) — Finally it’s here, Christmas weekend. For race fans that means green flags will start flying next weekend even though we’re still in the Re-Run Zone.

Merry Christmas to all our readers. Graphic courtesy – Moto-Source.

So to start this reporter wants to wish all of our readers a very Merry Christmas, a Blessed Hanukah and a very Happy New Year. Have to thank Moto-Source for this graphic.

CAR MEETS:

• As it is Christmas weekend and the fifth weekend of the month nothing is scheduled. However might want to check as every now and then Carson Cars & Coffee has a pop up event. Would probably happen on Friday so keep check the Face Book page for various groups.

PRACTICE: (MOTORCYCLES):

Battle Born MX is now taking sign ups for the 2023 season.

• Signups for the 2023 season are open at Battle Born Motocross. Their website is www.battlebornmx.com.

The MX track is closed through Christmas weekend and it appears will also be closed until after New Years. Photo courtesy – Fernley 95A Motorsports Complex.

• Locally the MX track at Fernley 95A Motorsports probably had its final practice for the year on Wednesday. The track will be closed Christmas weekend and it appears the same will happen on New Year’s weekend.

The holiday schedule for Riverfront MX. Photo courtesy – Riverfront MX.

• Looking over the hill Riverfront has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The track is closed on Christmas.

  • There was no mention of Prairie City so I’m guessing that track is closed for Christmas weekend.
This is the holiday weekend for MMX Racing.

• MMX Racing has a two-part schedule. Friday and Saturday from 9 until 2 p.m. they will have practice. But on Christmas day the track is closed.

At MMX Racing practice resumes right after Christmas and until New Year’s Eve.
  • Once Christmas has passed the track will have six days of practice from the 26th through January 2nd. Good way to work off the turkey dinner.
Here is the extended schedule for E-Street MX.

• Another track with an extended schedule is E-Street MX Park. They have a MX Clinic Thursday and practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Friday but are closed Christmas weekend.

Starting next Tuesday there is another MX Clinic with practice, from 9 until 2p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The track is closed on New Year’s Day.

RACING:

• We’re still mired in the Re-Run Zone. Best advice is to check out what www.youtube.com has. Another source that will go every day with past races is www.mavtv.com and one might want to check out www.floracing.com as well.

That ends this week’s Racing Preview. Short yes but we have a very special holiday weekend this time. In closing, want to wish all of you a safe and happy weekend. I’ll leave you with my eCard for this year.

My wish for all of you, your families and friends.
