RACING PREVIEW: JANUARY 12 TO 15

RENO, NV (Jan. 11) — Once again weather is playing a big roll in what will happen this weekend. As a result this will be another short preview article.

CAR MEETS:

This weekend Reno Cars & Coffee hit a milestone as it now has 10,000, members. Graphic courtesy – Lance Freitas.

• Reno Cars & Coffee hit a milestone Sunday and Lance Freitas posted this. Good for them.

They are supposed to have a meet Sunday starting at 10 a.m. and the location is the Human Bean Coffee stand by the intersection of Moana and Keitzke Lanes. Good freeway access to this site.

No word yet if Fallon Cars & Coffee will have its third weekend of the month meet. Graphic courtesy – Fallon Cars & Coffee

• When this was posted there was no word if Fallon Cars & Coffee was going to have a meet or not. Best advice is to check their Face Book page.

PRACTICE AND RACING (MOTORCYCLES):

Due to flooding Round 2 of the Supercross season has been postponed. Graphic courtesy – Supercross.

• Big news to day was that the Oakland round of Supercross had been postponed and not just canceled. Well good news as the races have rescheduled for Saturday the 18th.

The problem is that the Dirt Works crews were unable to build a track like they did in Anaheim. Now we need to hope Mother Nature doesn’t throw another spanner in the works.

REP Racing MX announced both Riverfront MX and Prairie City are closed this weekend. Photo courtesy – REP Racing MX.

• Latest word is that both Riverfront MX and Prairie City will be closed this weekend. I’m guessing it will be the same for E Street MX Park as well.

MMX Racing plans on having practice Thursday but the weekend is anybody’s guess right now. Photo courtesy – MMX Racing.

• MMX hopes to have practice from 9 until 3 p.m. Thursday but has their fingers crossed for Saturday and Sunday. Best bet for all these tracks is to check their Face Book pages before loading up.

The MX track will be closed this weekend. As soon as it is ready they’ll announce practice sessions. Photo courtesy – Fernley NinetyfiveA Motorspors.

• Fernley NinetyfiveA Motor Sports Complex won’t have practice on its motocross track this weekend.

RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• We are still pretty much in the Re-Run or Highlight Zone. But there are some races going on.

The annual Chili Bowl Nationals is rolling this week.

• To the east in Tulsa the annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals run through Saturday evening. One can see the action on www.floracing.com. Saturday’s finals will be very intense.

The annual Winter Nationals are in full swing down at the Cocopah Speedway.

• Down at the Cocopah Speedway in Arizona the Winter Nationals run through Saturday. Those races can be seen on www.imca.tv.

The Dakar Rally is running this week. Highlights can be seen either on Peacock or You Tube.

• Overseas the Dakar Rally is still going on and will go through Saturday. The Peacock network has a daily update at 6:30 p.m. each day or one can watch the highlights on www.youtube.com.

• For you early birds www.motortrendondemand.com starting at 2:20 a.m. Saturday has a 24 Hour Series. This time it’s the 24 Hours of Dubai.

That’s going to do it for this week. Weather is all over the place so be careful out there. Hope to see all next weekend
