RACING PREVIEW: FEBRUARY 9 TO 12

RENO, NV (Feb 8) — Last couple of days for King of the Hammers plus, depending on the weather, a couple of car meet as well as racing on the Internet.

CAR MEETS:

Nevada Car Coalition is having a meet Saturday to help promote car clubs.

• Saturday, from 4 until 7 p.m. the Nevada Car Coalition is having a meet to help promote car clubs and grow the group. Location is at Nova Tile & Stone located at 12835 Old Virginia Road, Reno.

• Sunday, from 10 until noon, Sparks Cars & Coffee has its first meet of the month. Location is the Starbucks off Disc Drive.

RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

Next round of the series is at the Oatfield track.

• Sunday the next round of the 2023 Frigid 7 Series will be run at the Oatfield Track in Northern California.

• No word yet if the motocross track at Fernley 95A Motor Sport Complex will have practice sessions this weekend. Best bet is to check their Face Book page on Friday. If not this weekend they’ll try for next week.

• Riverfront MX has open practice fro 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday. Friday an Saturday the track has private ride sessions then on Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. both track are open for practice.

• Prairie City has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

• E Street MX didn’t post but if the weather is good they’ll have practice from 9 until 2 Saturday and Sunday. Vintage track is used on Sunday as well as the other two.

RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNERNATIONAL)

The Las Vegas Dirt track host the Working Man Nationals this week.

• Down south at the Las Vegas Dirt Track the Working Man Nationals is running this weekend. Dates are February 9 through the 11, with the 8th being a practice day.

• On Thursday at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub. Only a week away from the start of Speed Week at Daytona.

• Friday is an open day so good time to check out the racing highlights on www.youtube.com.

• Saturday starts at 2:30 a.m. as You Tube carries Race #1 for the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series from Dubai.

This week the AMA Supercross Series is at Tampa, Florida. Map courtesy – swampmotolive.com.

• Peacock at 10:30 a.m. has Supercross Race Day Live then at 3:30 p.m. the network has the pre-race coverage for the current round of the AMA Supercross Series at Houston, Texas.

• Sunday is pretty slim but at 2:30 a.m. You Tube has Race #2 for the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series from Dubai. Good time to check for other events on www.mavtv.com or www.floracing.com.

One more week and things get rolling.

OTHER RACING NEWS:

The final days for the King of the Hammers races are now through Saturday when the big guys get their chance. They go from about 140 mph across the desert to sometime 2 or 3 mph going through the rocks.

One can either go to their website at www.kingofthehammers.com for a live feed or see that on You Tube.

MRANN starts its series next weekend. Saturday is for the Pee Wees, Mini Bikes, Women and Bombers. Sunday is for the Big Bikes.

• Next weekend MRANN starts local racing with the Ice & Fire 100, the 25th annual Hare and Hound Race. Good dirt roads lead to the pits and it’s a two-day event.

Daveys American Racing is on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m.

• Remember every Wednesday at 6 p.m. on Face Book it’s time for Davys American Racing. He covers all kind of series around the country.
