RACING PREVIEW: NOVEMBER 30 TO DECEMBER 3

RENO, NV (Nov. 29)— Even though TV is in the Re-Run Zone there are Toy Runs this weekend, a motocross and racing to the south.

CAR MEETS:

Iron Mafia gets the weekend rolling with the Thursday morning meet at Kim’s Donuts.

• The Iron Mafia gets the weekend at 7 a.m. Thursday with its weekly car meet. Location is Kim’s Donuts at 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

Nevada Jeep Club has an ice cream run on Saturday.

• On Saturday starting at 1 p.m. the Nevada Jeep Club is having a Scoop or Two Ice Cream Jeep Run. Location is at720 U.S.50 in Dayton.

• Sunday is a huge day with two major Toy Runs involving three clubs.

Reno Cars & Coffee gets Toy Run Sunday started at 10 a.m. by the Kietzke Starbucks.

         -Things get rolling when Reno Cars & Coffee hosts it’s 8th Annual Toy Run. Meet at the Keitzke    Starbucks at 10 a.m. then at 11 cruise up to the Northtowne Winco Parking lot.

Old Slammers of Reno has their 10th annual Toy for Kids function at the Northtowne Shopping Center starting at 11 a.m. Sunday.
  • That’s where Old Slammers of Reno is hosting the 10th Annual Toys for Kids. Times are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the meet benefits the Children’s Cabinet.
The 43rd annual Reno Toy Run begins at Reno Harley Davidson. At noon Santa leads the parade.
  • That same day the 43rd annual Reno Toy Run is where various motorcycle clubs join forces. Meeting place is Reno Harley Davidson located at 2315 Market Street in Reno. Kick stands up at noon as Santa leads the parade through downtown.

RACING (4-Wheel):

Legacy Racing Association ends its season with the Stateline Shootout at Jean, Nevada.

• To the south the Legacy Racing Association ends its season with the Stateline Shootout. Location is Jean, Nevada.

  • Qualifying, tech inspections start on Thursday with Saturday being race day. For further information please check, www.legacyracing.net.

The Bull Ring in Las Vegas will be very busy this Friday and Saturday.

• The Bull Ring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is hosting the Riskon 360 Open Wheel Showdown. So far there has been a great response and many cars are entered. For more information please check, www.openwheelshowedown.com.

RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

Motocross returns for two days at the Ferenley Sand Box MX track.

• Finally, after two years there will be motocross at the Fernley Sandbox. Due to this time of the year the motos are split between Saturday and Sunday.

  • On each day gates open at 7 a.m., a short practice at 9 a.m. with racing to follow. There is also a Christmas Toy Drive to help the Fernley kids. Remember riders must register online at, www.repracingmx.com.
MMX has two days of practice.

• MMX has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and the main, sand and kid’s tracks. Practice Sunday is from 9 until 3 p.m. with the vintage track being added into the mix.

E Street has practice Saturday then Sunday is ride day, and a toy drive, for Sierra OTHG members.

• E Street MX Park is busy this weekend. Saturday, from 9 until 2 p.m. is open practice. Then Sunday from 9 until 2 p.m. is a ride day and toy drive for Sierra OTHG.

• Riverfront has practice from 4 until 9 p.m. on Thursday. Sunday’s practice is from 9 until 2 p.m. on all tracks.

• Prairie City has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• Even though we are deep in the “Re-Run Zone,” but there is still some racing to watch.

• Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. www.motortrendondemand.com has Grand Turismo World Series World Finals Manufactures Cup from Barcelona, Spain.

         – Sunday, also on Motor Trend, at 7 a.m. is the next round of the Grand Turismo World Series from     Barcelona, Spain.

• As usual there are other sites including www.youtube.com that has highlights from races. Another site is www.mavtv.com as they have many reruns.
