RENO JEEPS & COFFEE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

RENO, NV (March 3) — Two car meets happened Sunday, one had a modest turn out while the other was a non-event due to the weather. As a result this will be a shorter than normal article.

Considering the weather it was a decent turn out at the Reno Jeeps & Coffee meet.

Weather was a factor with two meets this Sunday. One was Reno Jeeps & Coffee that met by the Human Bean Stand at the corner of South McCarran and Longely Lane.

About a half dozen Jeep owner braved the weather to make the meet.

About a half dozen Jeeps showed up and everyone had a good time visiting.

Not far away Reno Cars & Coffee scheduled a meet by the Human Bean Stand at the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lane. According to Ed Hughes only three showed up but shortly after 11 a.m. the lot was empty.

• Looking into the coming week Trucks & Tacos of Northern Nevada (The group’s new name.) will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

La Michocana is the location for Tuesday’s Trucks & Tacos of Northern Nevada’s meet.

This week’s location is La Michocana, located at 4950 South Virginia Street. The site is the strip mall on the east side close to the corner with Keitzke Lane where the McDonald’s is located.

Junkee is hosting its monthly Thursday meet this coming week.

• Since it’s the first Thursday of the month, Junkee is presenting Volkswagen Night. Time is from 4 to 8 p.m. and location is 372 Casazza Drive in Reno and all classic cars are welcome.

The 2024 BBMX season starts in two weeks so pre-register now.

Those planning on racing at Winnemucca MX in two weeks can save some time if they Pre-Register. This can be done at www.battlebornmx.com.

• With the start of area motocross starting in a couple of weeks Aaron Siminoe, a member of the 2023 American ISDE team, is looking to do training with younger riders. If the weather cooperates he’s hoping to have classes next weekend.

Registration is now open for this year’s Virginia City Grand Prix.

• Remember one can pre-register now for the 2024 Virginia City Grand Prix. The event happens in April but getting signed up early can help in having a good starting position.

Top Gun Dragstrip is planning two special events this year.

• Good news for drag racing competitors and fans as Top Gun Dragstrip is planning on two special events. One happens in June and the other in September and more information is coming soon.

Davey’s American Racing keeps track of national and short track events.

Davey’s American Racing is found on Face Book. His focus is on western oval tracks as well as national series and his updates can be found on Face Book.
