RENO, NV (April 12) — Mother Nature put a damper on two functions this Sunday. This is typical spring weather in Northern Nevada and a good reason why one never puts their warm coats away.
• The Northern Nevada Kart Club had its swap meet in Sparks. While the turnout was light there were several things for sale.

One was a black go kart that sat outside the business. It a second seat was well as a fuel jug.

There was a second go kart, as well as tires that were also for sale. The racer is a girl, who is moving up to Junior 1 from the Rookie class and her father is selling this one.

Not far away there were kart items, including a pair of shoes for sale. This person also sold a full driver’s suit that was purchased by another racer.

Some of those attending stopped by a table where there was also a helmet for sale. This person also had seats, tires and hubs to mount those one.

There was also a raffle but don’t know how that turned out. If there were enough people that bought tickets someone would win a nice dirt bike.
The weather, while cool, was not too bad.
• A few miles away Sparks Cars & Coffee held its first meet of the month. Due to the weather the turn out was light and there was a storm cell moving in.

A pair of owners had the hoods of their cars open so people could see the motors.

Contrast is part of these meets and there were three cars from different countries. The Corvette is from America while parked beside it was a Japanese car and beside that was a BMW from Germany.

On another short row were three imports with two of them from Europe and one from Japan.

The longest row had three domestic cars while imports were at the far end.
Soon after I took this picture there was a mix of snow and rain.
REPORTER’S NOTE: I want to add that Ed Hughes was there. If you want to see some great individual photos of cars please check his face book page.
Next week Reno Cars & Coffee will have its second meet of the year. It appears the weather will be much better,
