• The third annual StadiumGP returned to the Reno Rodeo grounds this weekend. The three-day event featured practice and a concert on the first night.
Friday had a full slate of races after practice and qualifying. Then on Saturday there was a display of vintage bikes as well as another band in the vendor area.

While the pros got the attention the show featured many other classes as well. After the first pro heat it was time for the youngsters racing in the 65cc Class. When the gate dropped Mason Perry took off and we never headed.

After the next Pro heat it was time for the Scooter race. Two riders were on a team with the first wearing a Tutu. At the end of the first lap riders exchanged the Tutu then the second rider took off, when the next and final lap started the first rider jumped on. Sadly the results did not list their names but #10 was the winner.

Next were two divisions of women racers. At the start Makayla Burns took off with Hayden Losey giving chase.
At the checkered Burns won, Losey was the runner up in Division1. Further back, California rider Aubry Patterson was he Division2 winner while Jordan Jones was the runner up..

Right after that was the Stacyc that featured the youngest riders racing small electric bikes, this is always a crowd pleasing event. As usual the starting area was full of riders as well as parents.

After the start Peyton Sperry grabbed the lead and we never caught. The course was entirely within the arena and Perry went on to score the victory.

In the Open Big Bike Class 1 the winner was Alex Orr and this race was followed by the 50cc classes event. In the 7 to 8 Group Jude Fye, won the overall victory while Braxten Rodgers won the 4 to 6 class.
Just before the intermission Class 3 of the Open Big Bike Class ran it race. The winner was Cody Vasina.

Following the intermission the 3-Wheelers took to the track. Matt Busedu rode his Honda to the victory.

Then came the Futures race for those 17 & Under. The Class 1 winner was Danner Leavitt while Barrett Stone was the Class 2 winner. This was followed by the Vintage & Retro race where Tim Stone won the Vintage class and Preston Eaton was the Retro victor.
Just before the Pro LCQ there was the All Vet race. In Class 1 the winner was Ryan Eager while Bobby Egesdahl won Class 2.

With three races to go it was time for the All 85cc event. Gagen Giomi was the Class 1 and overall winner while the Class 2 winner was Grayson Kromberg.

The Open Big Bike Class 2 race came next. That was won by Southern Cleeves.
Finally it was time for the 50-lap Pro Main Event. This time the riders got a sight lap complete with pyro going off.

Stadium GP uses a rubber band start and when it’s released the riders take off. Any one in the second row follows the first as the roar toward the 180-degree right first turn.

Right from the get go Michael Hicks, last year’s champion, who also won on Friday, was leading the charge.

Giving chase was Austin Politrelli, who was only a couple of seconds back. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to close that gap.

Up front Hicks left everyone his dust and reached the checkered flag first. He was followed by Politelli, who figured he was the runner up.
When all three of the finishers were assembled it was announced there had been an infraction. One serious enough to drop Hicks back to second place.

So a surprised and pleased Politelli accepted the winner’s check as well as a decorated guitar.
All in all it was a good StadiumGP with many fans in the stands, who got to enjoy a lot of good racing. Next year the 4th annual should be just as good and exciting. For the results please go to www.repracingmx.com and open the results page.
