RENO, NV (June 17) — Summer has arrived although officially it doesn’t start until Sunday. This weekend will be a warm one and is filled with car meets, cruises, rides and racing.
CAR MEETS:
•Thursday has two events plus a pair of cruises.

- Things get going in the cool of the morning, around 8 a.m. at Kim’s Cruisers meet at Kim’s Donut and Tea House. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

- Down in Carson City the Thursday Night Cruise, from 5 until 7, starts at Battle Born Harley Davidson on Research Way.

- Around that same time there is the Thursday Cruznite to Chilcoot Frosty & Goodwins General Store. Go north on 395, turn left at Highway 70, go over the hill and look for the turn off to Frenchman’s Lake.

- Another way to escape the heart is at the 19th Annual Tahoe City Classic Car Stroll. The Kiwanis Club of North Lake Tahoe is the host. Starts at 5:30 p.m. and is a great way to see classic cars and escape the heat in the valley.
• Friday has three events and maybe more.

- The Reno Bike Community has a ride that starts at the Maverik station located at the corner of Sutro and McCarran. People start to gather at 6 and at 7 p.m. its kickstands up.

- Starting around 6:30 the Old Slammers of Reno meets at the Northtowne parking lot. Sometime around 7:30 they start their cruise.

- Friday is when the Yerington’s Main Street Car Show starts. The cars are lined up along main street and the shows runs through Father’s Day Sunday.
- When this post was written there was nothing from Carson Cars & Coffee. Sometimes they have pop up meets to be sure to check their Face Book Page.
• There are five events on Saturday:

- Over in Winnemucca, starting at 8 a.m., it’s the 30th anniversary of the Koyote Kruisers Show & Shine. They are having at preregistration/welcoming party from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday.

- Starting at 9 a.m. there is Jim Dobbas Days, looks like a truck event. Location is 1365 Quilici Ranch Road in Verdi.

- Wicked Ways is having A Day in the Park Ride & Shine. Registration starts at 3 p.m., show time starts at 5 pm. and its open to all makes and models. There will be food trucks, vendors and entertainment.

- For you side-by-side fans F&S Powersports are hosting a Spring into Summer Poker Run 2026. Registration is 9 until 10 at the Wayside Bar at 9275 Lemmon Drive.

- For the two-wheel crowd the Virginia City Motorcycle Company is hosting the Toha-Kammu Poker Run. Registration gets going at 10 a.m. at Battle Born Harley Davidson in Carson City.
• Sunday is another busy day with seven events to choose from.

- Reno Jeeps & Coffee, starting at 10 a.m., meets at the Human Bean Coffee Stand located on the corner of Longley Lane and South McCarran.

- Reno Cars & Coffee, starting at 10 a.m. meets at the Human Bean Coffee Stand located by the corner of Moana and Keitzke Lanes.

- On Father’s Day, starting at 10 a.m. the Bonanza Casino, at 4720 North Virginia Street, is having the 25th Anniversary Show ‘N Shine. Registration is free and all makes and types are welcome.

- Over in Crescent Valley, Nevada the Red Barn General Store presents Father’s Day Classic Car Show. The town is between Elko and Battle Mountain. There is a breakfast for early birds starting at 8 a.m. and things go from 10 until 2 p.m. on West Front Street.

- The Unique Classics Car Club is hosting Classic Cars & Cigars on Father’s Day. The meet starts at 11 and the location is Ethos Cigar Society, 222 Los Altos Parkway in Sparks.

- Good Sam Safe Ride is hosting a meet at the Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe. Sadly they forgot to put the time on their announcement. So I’m going to take a wild guess and hope it starts at 9 a.m.
• RACING (4-WHEEL):

- This weekend Club Rowdy has a three-day drifting event at the Reno Fernley Raceway. Things usually get going by 9 a.m. and it’s on the road course out there.

- After their track has been repaved the Northern Nevada Kart Club is opening its 2026 season. Things usually get going around 8 on Sunday and it’s a full day of action with practice, qualifying, two heat races and a main event.

- Up north Diamond Mountain Speedway has Summer Nights race on Saturday. Track is located at the Fairgrounds in Susanville and normally it’s at 6 p.m. start to the action.

- To the south Tonopah Speed way is hosting Father’s Day Race Weekend. There is racing both Friday and Saturday with a 6 p.m. start time.

- To the east a pair of tracks are having a Two-Day Combined Points event. Starting at 7 p.m. Friday the Winnemucca Regional Speedway has the first round. Then Saturday, starting at 6 p.m., Lovelock has the second round. Looks like there will be extra money and Grace Photography will be hand taking pictures.
- Both Northern Nevada Drag Strips will be in action.

+ Northern Nevada Racing Association has the Jumpin’ June Drags Saturday and Sunday. Location is the Good Times Drag Strip at 8905 Jungo Road, about six miles out of town.

+ Top Gun Drag Strip, located south of Fallon on Highway 95, has points races #4 and #5. Friday is a Test N Tune session that starts at 10 a.m. while Saturday and Sunday’s event starts at 8:30 in each morning.
RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

• REP Racing MX has ride and practice sessions this weekend at Riverfront MX and PC MX. Sadly the Sandbox in Fernley is closed.

• MRANN is racing at the Hillside Motorsports Park in Elko. It’s the Hillside Havoc race hosted by Whatever MC.

• This weekend round 2 of the Summer Sundayz series is at Cub Moto. Friday is for camping, Saturday for practice and Sunday is race day.

• MMX Racing has Saturday practice from 8 until 1 on the Main, Sand and Kid’s tracks. Sunday practice is from 8 until 2 and there is an OSMX Ride Day on the Vintage track.

• E Street MX Park was slated to have an SXS race but had to cancel. They might have practice Saturday and Sunday so be sure to check their page on Friday.
RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• Here is the TV schedule for NASCAR. Once again if you don’t get any of these pay for view channels www.youtube.com will have highlights from the races. This week the series is racing at the U.S. Navy Base in Coronado.

• The Indy Car series is at Road America this weekend and here is their TV schedule. After the race you can see highlights on www.youtube.com.
• Thursday at 7 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has Speed then at 7:30 they air Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour.
• Friday at 4 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has the Craftsman Truck race from Coronado. The art 7:40 p.m. Roku has Formula E qualifying from Sanya.
• Saturday begins early art 12:05 a.m. when Roku has round 11 of the Formula E series. Then at 5:55 a.m. Fox Sports 1 has MotoGP Sprint from Brno.

- Peacock at 7 a.m. has Race Day Live then at 10 a.m. airs the AMA Pro Motocross High Point National from Mt. Morris Pennsylvania.

- The WMX series will also be racing and I’m guessing their first moto was Friday. The second moto is at noon and Peacock will carry it. So far Lala Turner, who hails from Gardnerville, leads the points.
- The CW network comes on at 2 p.m. with the O’Reilly Auto Parts series race from Coronado. Then at 3:30 p.m. Fox Sports has ARCA racing from Marne.

• Sunday has an early start as Fox Sports 1 has the MotoGP race from Brno.

– Fox comes on at 11 as the broadcast the Indy Car Race from Road America.

• Finally the weekend ends at 1 p.m. when Prime airs the NASCAR race from the Navy base at Coronado.
Whew! That’s it for this weekend. Once the buffet table is over flowing. Be sure to get out to a cruise, car meet or race. You’ll meet some great people if you do.
