QUINCY, CA (Oct. 13) — A gray misty evening set the stage for the season ending event at Quincy Speedway. The program was held up due to a passing light rains. After wheel packing there were hot laps and heat races. Starting the racing program were the IMCA Stock Cars. FALLON, NV (Oct. 5) — For the 38th time Rattlesnake Raceway ended its season with the Dirt Track Championships. While it is a two-day affair there is a big difference. A driver’s combined finishes are used to determine how they placed in the DTC. The driver that has the best record gets the trophy, is named their class Dirt Track Champion and has a year’s worth of bragging rights. FALLON, NV (SEPT. 14) — This weekend Rattlesnake Raceway honored the memory of long time racer Alan Dias, whose family also races. It was a full program for both days. Saturday’s show began when the field lined up on the track prior to a memorial lap to honor Dias. On the front row were three cars raced by family members. Before the parade lap, and after the national anthem played, drivers and spectators released pink balloons. Then the field, behind the Dias family cars circled the track at a slow speed. SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (Sept. 1) — Diamond Mountain Speedway ended its regular season with a two-race program on Labor Day Weekend. After a full set of heats and mains on Saturday at the Sunday show, only the Mini Stocks had a heat race but the other four classes had a 6-lap dash for cash plus their mains. The Dash winners were, Jared Flower in Street Stocks, Jace Wright in IMCA Northern Sportmod, Robert Mull in IMCA Stock Cars and Jace Wright who won the IMCA Modified dash. FALLON, NV (Aug. 10) — While many were celebrating Hot August Nights in Reno and Sparks others were either racing or spectating at Rattlesnake Raceway. Saturday began with a water balloon battle between the kids in attendance as well as track officials and drivers. Once that ended and after the area was cleaned up, it was time for racing. LOVELOCK, NV (AUG. 3) — Every year the rural town of Lovelock Nevada celebrates its founding with Frontier Days. Not far out of downtown the Lovelock Speedway has two nights called the Frontier Days Races. One added incentive is a special belt buckle awarded to those that earned the most points in several classes over the two nights. First up Saturday was the Mod Mini class. RENO, NV (JULY 21) — Lovelock Speedway had the next round of its season with a two-day show this weekend. Despite some occasional light rain the show went on. Since it was NAPA Night at the races there was a NAPA t pace truck that led the pace lap for each of the main. Saturday’s first feature was the Gen-X class. LOVELOCK, NV (June 22) — Despite the heat the Lovelock Speedway had two days of racing this weekend. On Saturday, in addition to the two classes present the Sierra Nevada Sprint Car series visited the track. Car counts were a little low as the IMCA Touring series was in Tonopah this weekend. But there were Hobby Stocks and Gen-X to round out the show. After getting things going the sprint cars went out and qualifying. QUINCY, CALIFORNIA (June 15) — This weekend West Coast Pro Stocks made its first visit to Quincy Speedway. The event was the Pearson Family Memorial Race and two of the regular classes were there to support the program. There was a bit of computer problems so another laptop had to be summoned. QUINCY, CALIF. (May 11) — This weekend Quincy, Speedway started its season by hosing the annual Western States Dwarf Car Nationals. It was round three of this year’s series. Before the racing began the entire Dwarf Car field assembled on the track for parade laps. They honor those lost and the event has been known as the Richardson-Kay Memorial. This year it also honored Loretta Christiano, who was lost last year as well as one of Vukie Wilson’s family. FALLON, NV (April 20) — Great spring weather greeted racers and fans as Rattlesnake Raceway opened the new season. The two-day show ran Friday and Saturday nights and a boy and a girl got a free bike that second night. Saturday’s program began on a somber note. Drivers lined up on the front stretch to honor Loretta Christiano, who suddenly passed away last week at a Dwarf Car National in Bakersfield, California. LOVELOCK, NV (April 13) — On a weekend that saw a very windy and dusty Saturday Lovelock Speedway held its season opener, a two-day show. Unfortunately the car count was lower than expected but there was still some good racing. Once the track was set during the heats Saturday it was time for the mains. The first one combined the IMCA Modifieds and the IMCA Northern Sport Mod classes. On the green Walter Ball challenged Shawn Natenstedt. Soon however it was clear the race was Natenstedt’s, as once a few laps went by, he was on cruise control. Ball wasn’t
