RACING PREVIEW: APRIL 7 TO 10

This week there is racing live, on TV and the Internet. Racing preview for this week has a mix of events for both the two-wheel and oval track fans. Once again there will be no practice at the Livfast Exit 28 motocross track as they are preparing for their next race. Fernley 95A Speedway will host its second race of the season Saturday with a 2 p.m. start time. All the car classes will be in action on the oval. Motocross racers competing in the 775 Spring Classic Series will head for Winnemucca for the third round of their series.

RACING PREVIEW: MARCH 31-APRIL 3

Finally racing has begun in earnest here in this area as the Speed Merchants entertain their fans. Racing preview for this week is pretty full now that the Easter Holiday is behind us. Series, both here nationally and internationally, will be at full throttle. Locally the oval track season is progressing as Rattlesnake Raceway opens its 2016 season Saturday. Racing, which includes the cars and karts begins at 6 p.m. and round out the field will be the first round of the new series for the Nevada Pro Stock Association as these cars mark their return to the track. A little slow this week with the holiday but its another lull before the storm of action. Racing preview this week is a bit slim as the Easter holiday is upon us. Most national and international series are taking a holiday until things get going with a bang next week. However there are a few things happening in our region and over the hill. Racing is really heating up as series are getting started both nationally and internationally week. Racing preview for this week has local happenings that lead into the new season, which starts next week. Out in the Fallon area two tracks have having test-and-tune sessions. South of town, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Top Gun Raceway has testing for drag racers. Racing season is almost here and this article show the increase in activity. It’s finally here, the long wait is over as it’s the start of season when motors roar and the green flags wave. Racing preview this time has a host of events that one can view as well as the first race in our area to get this season started. Racing is beginning to heat up and locally we’re almost to our first event of the year. This week’s Racing Preview is a mixed bag that contains the first major race in the country, TV and Internet as well as a serious part. First and foremost a local veteran motocross rider and announcer Adam Portue` has been going through some grave medical challenges as he battles cancer. Racing preview this week has two motocross events listed as well as where to find the updates on this year’s Dakar Rally. While there is less than a month from the start of racing in our area there are two motocross races in California that area riders will be traveling to. Racing Preview for this week is the slimmest yet but thing are about to change. Because after this weekend new seasons start to fire up. Locally Livfast Exit 28 will host practice sessions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For those competing in the Bishop MX winter series there will be practice at the Tri-County Fairgrounds, gates open at 9 a.m. Most of the action will be on the TV this week.
