RENO (Sept. 13) – Racing Preview this week highlights the major event in our area plus regional events both here and in Northern California. Also included is TV and what is streaming on the Internet are also covered. Here in this area the biggest event are the annual National Championship Air Races, the only event on the planet where pilots go head-to-head and race each other around a marked course. Steven Hinton put down what was thought was the fastest Unlimited qualifying lap on Tuesday when he posted a speed of 479.364 miles an hour. Looked like it might hold

RENO (Sept 6) – Racing preview for this week is a varied menu even though the season her and else where is winding down. There are live events as well as much to view on TV and the Internet. The weekend kicks off at the Battle Mountain Raceway as the track hosts its annual Silver Kart Classic Friday and Saturday. This is probably the biggest Outlaw Kart show in Northern Nevada and drivers from California, Oregon, Nevada and Idaho are expected. RENO, NV (Aug. 30) – Racing preview for this week has a mixed menu. In this region most of the oval tracks are dark although there is a big off road race. Over in TV and Internet land there are some major events to watch or stream. The major race in our area is the Fallon 250 desert race out at Salt Wells, about 35 miles or so east of Fallon. This year there is a new title sponsor for the event P.C.I Race Radios. As usual Saturday is a two-stage event with the production classes starting at 6 a.m.

RENO, NV (Aug. 23) – This week we have another national event visiting our area plus regional racing. Over in TV World there are several events but some series are off before the big Labor Day weekend. The major event will be at Wild West Motorsports Park, located off I-80 east of Sparks. It’s the return of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series with two days of action on this fast, yet hilly course. Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday as the off road stars work both for good finishes, if not wins and gaining more points since

RENO (Aug. 16) – Made a mistake when I first posted this so have now corrected it. Still want to get this out a bit early as this Racing Preview has a lot of things to cover. Locally it’s going to be a varied, huge weekend for race fans and some will have to choose what they will watch or participate in. Friday is a huge day for many local motorcycle desert racers as the annual Best In The Desert Vegas to Reno race begins early in the morning and ends in Dayton, I believe around the Q& D pit
