RENO NV (MAY 18) — The first StadiumGP rocked the Reno Rodeo Arena this weekend. On Thursday was qualifying followed by a concert, then Friday and Saturday were both race days. There were a variety of classes but the Pros raced for $10,000 on Friday an $10,000 on Saturday. Saturday evening, after the opening ceremonies, things started rolling with the three classes of Futures. These were racers 17 and under. Peyton Maas won in Class 1 while Lucas Evans won Class 2. STEAD, NV (May 19) — Several weeks ago the Northern Nevada Kart Club had to postpone the second event in its 2024 season. That event was made up today when the weather cooperated. Things did get started a bit late but soon the program was rolling. After the second heat race it was time for the main events. First up were the Kid’s Karts. QUINCY SPEEDWAY HOSTS DWARF CAR NATIONALS

QUINCY, CALIF. (May 11) — This weekend Quincy, Speedway started its season by hosing the annual Western States Dwarf Car Nationals. It was round three of this year’s series. Before the racing began the entire Dwarf Car field assembled on the track for parade laps. They honor those lost and the event has been known as the Richardson-Kay Memorial. This year it also honored Loretta Christiano, who was lost last year as well as one of Vukie Wilson’s family. Two were on Sunday, although this reporter was only able to get to one while the other was on Saturday, fortunately after the storm passed Reno. While the turnout was less than expected, probably due to the weather that passed over Reno, the JDM meet still two lines of cars. THUNDER ON THE COMSTOCK – PART 2

VIRGINIA CITY, NV (April 28) — Another spring like day greeted riders for day two of the Virginia City Grand Prix. This second day is for Novice racers and includes many classes including a few classes that race on a short course. No matter which course a rider uses it’s always a challenge. On Sunday morning there were 485 racers lined up on C Street for the 3-hour timed event. Of those 373 finished while 112 were DNF. This was the most riders the event has seen in the past few years. VIRGINIA CITY, NV (April 27) — Once again it’s the end of April and riders from all over head for the Comstock. The attractions is the annual Virginia City Grand Prix, one race many want to compete in and, if all goes well, win. The Pros and Amateurs race Saturday in a 4-hour timed event. That means when the checkered flies the leaders might still be on the course as everyone’s place is determined by corrected time. RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY OPENS ITS 2024 SEASON

FALLON, NV (April 20) — Great spring weather greeted racers and fans as Rattlesnake Raceway opened the new season. The two-day show ran Friday and Saturday nights and a boy and a girl got a free bike that second night. Saturday’s program began on a somber note. Drivers lined up on the front stretch to honor Loretta Christiano, who suddenly passed away last week at a Dwarf Car National in Bakersfield, California. STEAD, NV (April 21) — With almost perfect weather the Northern Nevada Kart Club staged the first round of its 2024 season. Racing with a new compound tires offered a challenge but the drivers seemed pleased with them.. After two sets of heat races and an intermission it was time for the main events. Since the shortest course was used there were more laps for the heats and mains. Leading off was the Kid Kart class and their main was 10-laps long. LOVELOCK, NV (April 13) — On a weekend that saw a very windy and dusty Saturday Lovelock Speedway held its season opener, a two-day show. Unfortunately the car count was lower than expected but there was still some good racing. Once the track was set during the heats Saturday it was time for the mains. The first one combined the IMCA Modifieds and the IMCA Northern Sport Mod classes. On the green Walter Ball challenged Shawn Natenstedt. MRANN AT LOVELOCK

LOVELOCK, NV (April 7) — Mason Valley Dirt Squirts staged the third round, called the Mazuma 100, of the 2024 MRANN season. The pits and finish were located at the Lovelock Speedway and the start was about a half mile away. The classes were broken down into various groups with the AA pros starting first. It took seven rows to get every one started as they roared toward the hills. At the end of the first lap two AA pro riders were battling for the lead.
