  • FALLON 250 – DESERT DOUBLE HEADER

      Fallon 250 was very different as two series combined forces to stage a day into night desert racing event. SALT WELLS (Aug. 29) – This year’s Fallon 250, the last desert race on VORRA’s (Valley Off Road Racing Association) calendar, was a bit different. This time the event was a western regional for Ultra4 series and drivers could use it to qualify for their nationals in October. As a result, 50 Unlimiteds showed up plus around 70 for VORRA.   • YOUNG CHAMPION LOOKS AHEAD

    (RENO (1-12) — In every form of racing there are the veterans and younger competitors that are rising up the ranks. MRANN is no different and one rising racer is 16-year-old Spanish Springs High School Sophomore Drew Chattin, this year’s 250 Expert championship.   • WEEKEND PREVIEW – NOV.20 – 23

    This weekend is championship time for two different series, one local and the other international. Both events wind up racing for this year. • East of Fernley the desert racers of MRANN square off for their final event. The pits are located on the south side of I-80 off the Nightingale exit. Titles will be clinched while other racers are riding to secure their places in the points. The action begins Saturday with a 45-minute race for the Pee Wee riders. Then, at 11 a.m. the Mini Bikes/Women/Vintage and Bombers begin their 90-minute event. Sunday is for the big bikes
