  • MARNN AT TOULAN + WEEK’S PREVIEW

    TOULON (Sept. 28) — Rain this weekend canceled one event but another soldiered on and ran its event. Due to the conditions at the track and in the pits Rattlesnake Raceway postponed its annual Dirt Track Championship, a two-day event that brings the track’s season to a close. Yet only about 60 miles away MRANN and District 36 ran their annual combined event, The Wild Horse and Wild Pony Enduro.   • SOME TITLES CLINCHED AT NNKC

      STEAD (Sept. 6) – With two races left on the schedule it’s time for drivers to seal the deal in their championship drives. So the Northern Nevada Kart Club’s latest races, which was a rare Saturday event, was very important.       At least three drivers clichéd championships and one of them notched crowns in two different classes.   • NNKC LIGHTS UP THE NIGHT

    STEAD (Aug. 16) – Once a year the Northern Nevada Kart Club honors one of its founders, the later Rick Jerome, with the annual night race. While most of the season is run in daylight this event begins in the late afternoon and ends under the lights.   To celebrate this once a year happening many racers festoon their karts with lights, in the wheels, on the trim and one even had headlights.   • Racing Calendar for the Week of August 16/17

    • This week’s racing calendar features a unique form of motorsport, Trials. It’s not about speed but the rider’s control as they negotiate various obstacles.   The goal is earning the least amount of penalty points when a rider completes what ever course they are on. Put a foot on the ground or get stopped and a point is added, so the one with the lowest points is the winner. The Boreal Ridge Trials will be staged at the Boreal Ski Resort, just west of Donner Summit on I-80. Beginners and vintage bikes competing on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
