    RENO, NV (July 27) – The annual night race for the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) is a special event local and visiting drivers look forward to.     STEAD, NV (June 3) – Desert Park Raceway was alive with the sound of go-kart racing. The occasion was round 4 of the Northern Nevada Kart Club series.     STEAD, NV (June 2): Northern Nevada Kart Club was back in action at Desert Park Raceway. With one exception, a small shower during a heat race, weather was almost perfect for a day of hard racing. The final main in Junior 2 was the race of the day as two youngsters put on a good show of hard and clean racing.     STEAD, NV (May 5) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club held the second race of its season at Desert Park Raceway. Mother Nature blessed the event with almost perfect weather for a day of hard racing. For this round the short course was used. Part of that is the old turn now number 8, onto the front straight. Not everyone got it right and the barrier got a good work out during the day.     RENO, NV (Nov. 9) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) held its annual awards banquet at the Boomtown Hotel and Casino. Entering the room there was a historical display of photographs, trophies from years gone by and past championship jackets. Another tradition is a cake with the NNKC logo on it. That waited until later in the evening when it was time for desert.     STEAD, NV (Aug. 18) – Desert Park Raceway hosted the final round of this year’s KPX series. Unlike the other rounds it was a night race and the NNKC (Northern Nevada Kart Club) was the host club.     STEAD, NV (July 15) – Desert Park Raceway was the site of the fourth round for this year’s Northern Nevada Kart Club’s season. Warm temperatures didn’t slow down the racers but some bugs did, at least for a while. Early in the day bugs, flying ants, plagued the scoring tower as well as the corner stations. Fortunately Ecolab was summed and they made quick work of the pests but the break morphed into the lunch break.     RENO, NV (May 22) – Need2Speed, our local indoor electric go kart track is part of the new American E-Kart Championships sponsored by Monster Energy. Local tracks around the country are hosting a series aimed at selecting a local champion, who competes in the finals for a national title.     RENO (Dec 9) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club assembled at the Grand Sierra to honor its champions, hand out special appreciation awards and present one driver with the club’s top special award. It was a festive gathering and a buffet was served for dinner. The meeting began with outgoing NNKC President Brian Rivera thanking the previous board. Besides Rivera they were Jason Graves, Troy Berry, Cody Kay and Stephanie Callahan. Then he introduced the new board.
