  • ORMHOF HONORS OFF-ROAD RACERS

    RENO (Dec. 14) – The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame  (ORMHOF) is located on the west side of Harrah’s National Automobile Museum in Reno.       Biggest happening in Nevada is down south where NASCAR has invaded Las Vegas for its Sprint Cup Championship week. And on Wednesday it was announced that Fox Sports and NBC Sports are combining forces to televise NASCAR events. The agreement is for 10-years with Fox doing the first half of the season, including the Daytona 500 and NBC Sports taking the second half, which will include the Chase for the Championship.   • MRANN’S CHAMPIONSHIP DAY

    NIGHTINGALE (Nov. 23) – MRANN ended its season here east of Fernley on the south side of I-80. For the desert racers it was their Championship Day as titles were clinched or secured.   This time the Tankslappers Motorcycle Club staged “The Return of the Jackass,” in the rolling hills. While it was windy on Saturday the weather was almost perfect on Sunday.   • SPARKS DRIVER WINS ULTRA 4 TITLE

    SPARKS, NV — Winning a championship in racing is never easy. It takes commitment, a whole lot of effort and support from people that help the driver as well as sponsors. And even then winning a title can be illusive.   However when the recent Nitto Tire Ultra 4 Nationals ended at Wild West Motorsport Park, one local, Dave Schneider, achieved this goal and won the Legends class championship.   • ULTRA 4 RACES AT WILD WEST

    MUSTANG (OCT. 14) This weekend the Wild West Motorsports Park, located east of Sparks, north of the Mustang Exit on I-80, hosts another first time event. It’s the final round of the Nitto Tire National Championship Ultra 4 Series.   Competing will be everything from UTVs to open Ultra 4 machines as drivers race to secure class titles or improve their points positions.
