  • BATTLE BORN MOTORSPORTS: DRIFTING IN NORTHERN NEVADA

RENO, NV (May 15) — Battle Born Motorsports is the creation of Adrian Buyten. He created it after seeing a need for his favorite motorsport, drifting and has been working to develop it to this area. Asked how he got interested in drifting Buyten said, “I had an 85 Merkur XR4TI, a super rare Europen Ford rear drive with a 2.3 liter turbo motor. It happened in the rain getting sideways and that kicked the rear out a little bit. I’ve been hooked every since.” That was in 2003 and he started sliding around parking lots, especially after it snowed.

  • SCUDDERS PERFORMANCE: AIR COOLED VW SPECIALISTS

SPARKS, NV (May 4) – The Reno/Sparks area is blessed with many shops catering to a niche market and Scudders Performance is one of them. My claim to fame is building Lakeside Apartments as that’s where I started,” he said. He explained back then winters were stronger than they are now so the carpentry  work only lasted six months out of a year. He had

Gabe Sweeney is one of these as his passion has evolved into a business. “I started street racing with an old Chevelle I had and it just kind of grew from there to doing everybody’s car out of my garage,” he said. “I worked for GM for a while then started doing it for everybody else and opened the shop in April 2012.” By then he had built up a good body of clientele, which made

  • NEW SPONSOR: G.I.S. LAND SERVICES

We want to welcome G.I.S. Land Services to the family of sponsors helping support nvracingnews. Although not directly related to racing the inspiration to start the business came from the sport. “Growing up in Southern California we raced in AMA District 37 that included old mining camps like Mojave and Randsburg, California. There are numerous rock formations, old prospects and mines that catch your eye and that’s how I became interested in prospecting,” Greg Ekins said. He caught the gold bug and this sparked an interest in geology. “Over the decades my gold prospecting has included panning, sluicing, dredging and
