SPARKS, NV (Dec. 4) – The annual banquet for MRANN (Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada) is a night to celebrate all the champions, honor special people, award scholarship recipients and sadly to honor one that was lost. As usual there were two sets of trophies, one for the Saturday racers, where the youngest and others race on short tracks. The other set is for the big bike riders that race on the long course. RACING PREVIEW: JANUARY 2 TO 5

RENO, NV (January 1, 2020) –We’re still deep in the Re-Run Zone was we start the New Year, however Racing Preview shows there is light at the end of the tunnel. CAR MEETS: • Since it’s the first weekend of the month Reno Cars and Coffee will have its first meet of the year at the Kietzke Lane Starbucks. Things get rolling at 10 a.m. Sunday and with good weather should be a great turnout again. Right at New Year’s Eve Lance Freitas posted the group now has 5,000 members. Should be a banner for this group of car lovers.

RENO, NV (Dec. 29) – The final car meet of the year came when Reno Cars & Coffee boss Lance Freitas decided to have it by Classic Rock Coffee shop. Good weather and the timing resulted in a huge turn out. As usual the range of cars ran from the ordinary to exotic and some were a bit extraordinary. Still it was a good time for car people to get together and enjoy both the coffee as well as the machinery. RENO, NV (Dec 25) – While most of the Racing Preview is still stuck in the Re-Run Zone there are rays of sunshine. Racing actually begins this weekend and on New Year’s Day. CAR MEETS: • Reno Cars and Coffee has the last meet of the year starting at 10 a.m. Sunday. The location is the coffee shop located at 5150 Mae Anne, by the corner with McCarran. RENO TOY RUN HELPS AREA CHARITIES RENO, NV (Dec. 8) – For the 39th year the annual Reno Toy Run hosted by the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs was held Sunday. RENO, NV (DEC. 1) – Despite the snow and rain two car clubs joined forces to help disadvantaged youngsters through the Children’s Cabinet. The clubs were Reno Cars and Coffee as well as the Old Slammers Club of Reno. The day started when Reno Cars and Coffee has its usual first weekend of the month meet at the Keitzke Starbucks. This time it was the 4th annual Toy Drive for the club. Due to the snow only a few hardcore members showed up but they brought unwrapped toys to be donated later. SEASON IN REVIEW: MORE OVAL TRACKS

RENO, NV (Nov 25) — As the 2019 season fades in the rear view mirror it’s time to do a season review for oval tracks. This time I’ll focus on two tracks in Northeastern California plus two Nevada tracks, Lovelock Speedway and 95A Speedway. • American Valley Speedway is literally in the woods next to the Plumas/Sierra County Fairgrounds. It’s a nice fairgrounds track located on the east side of town. The season ends with the Timber Cup, which is the final points race of the season.
