RENO, NV (Aug. 7) — The annual festival celebrating classic cars is rolling along. Hot August takes over Reno, Sparks and for a couple of days, Virginia City. One feature of downtown Reno is the Big Boy’s Toy Store. It features accessories, parts, all kind of tools and t-shirts all in one place. RENO, NV (Aug. 7) — Hot August Nights has hit its full stride and goes through the weekend. There are also car events as well as racing to fill the schedule. CAR MEETS: • Friday, starting at 7 p.m., Carson Cars & Coffee will meet at the Dutch Brothers coffee stand. RENO, NV (Aug. 6) — For 10 days the Reno area is in the midst of an annual celebration of classic cars. It’s known as Hot August Nights and while it dominates the area for 10-days each year there are other groups that are there as well. • One of them is VDUB, a Volkswagen based group, whose members have all the variations of this brand. RENO, NV (Aug. 3) — August means the start of the 10-day festival celebrating classic cars known as Hot August Nights. While it’s not the only thing HAN is pretty much the main attraction. • Friday began with a Show ‘N’ Shine at Summit Racing Products in Sparks. SPARKS, NV (July 27) — Sparks Cars & Coffee had its second meet of the month. Location as usual was near the Starbucks off of Disc Drive. Once again variety is part of any show like this One interesting comparison was a T-Bucket parked next to an import. One of the exotic cars came with a racing history. RENO, NV (JULY 13) — Despite the record setting heat it was a busy day here in Reno. There were two car meets plus a function that brought bike clubs together for a charity event aimed at helping disadvantaged kids that needed school supplies. • Things got rolling around 10 a.m. when Sparks Cars & Coffee met at the Starbucks off Disc Drive. About a dozen cars, plus a Jeep showed up and around 11:30 they headed for South Lake Tahoe and the cooler temps up there. It was a nice summer time cruise that was organized by Beth Marcotie.
