  • DESERT PARK RACEWAY: NNKC ENDS SEASON

    STEAD, NV (Sept. 5) — The Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) ended it 2021 season this Sunday. They made up a round heavy smoke canceled earlier and for many it was the championship round. Starting the program was the Kid Kart Class, only three were on hand this time. Two of them had problems with Turn 5 but thanks to a pair of fathers both drivers were able to continue. Cash Prater was the first to reach the finish as he had a fast, consistent run. At 7-years-old he’s going to move up to Junior 1 next season. Hunter Nelson

  • DESERT PARK RACEWAY: NNKC ROUND 7

    STEAD, NV (Aug. 29) — Despite the haze the Northern Nevada Kart Club ran round 7 of its point’s series Sunday. With only one more round to go, drivers were either clinching championships or working on improving their points position. After qualifying and two heat races it was time for the main events.   • DESERT PARK RACEWAY: NNKC ROUND 4

    STEAD, NV (June 27) – The fourth round of this year’s season for the Northern Nevada Kart Club was held on a hot day. Despite this the racing was also hot as drivers worked for victories and points.   As usual the mains begin with the Kid Kart class.     STEAD, NV (May, 23) – Despite a rainy morning that had a start and stop effect on the race the NNKC got its thir point’s race of the season in. Once again there was a good turn out of drivers.   Desert Park can be configured several different ways.     STEAD, NV (May 2) – Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) held it’s second points of the season this weekend. Unlike the last race where the short course was used this time it was the full course.   After practice, qualifying and heat races it was time for the money round, the mains.     STEAD, NV (April, 18)  – The Northern Nevada Kart Club opened it’s 2021 season this weekend. It was a very good turn out for the season’s first race as 77 drivers were on hand.   Desert Park Raceway can be altered for every event.   • SEASON IN REVIEW: NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB

    RENO, NV (Nov. 29) – It’s that time again to take a look back at this unusual season so I’ll begin with the Northern Nevada Kart Club. This 2020 season was anything but normal although the club was able to get in all six races points it had scheduled. Due to the pandemic restrictions the originally scheduled rounds, April 19 and May 10 were canceled, actually postponed. Then in June the club was able to get its season rolling.     STEAD, NV (Sept 20) – Due to the Air Races being canceled this year the Northern Nevada Kart Club was able to squeeze in an extra race. This helped make up the events lost due to the shut down earlier this season. Nice weather and almost no smoke made for great racing weather.     STEAD, NV (Aug.22) – Every year the Northern Nevada Kart Club hosts a night race at Desert Park Raceway. It’s named the Rick Jerome Memorial to honor on of the club’s founders and this year it’s the third round of the points season.     STEAD, NV (June 7) – Desert Park Raceway echoed with the sound of racing as the Northern Nevada Kart Club finally was able to start its 2020 season. It was a cold, windy day and in the end Mother Nature didn’t cooperate. In fact with the weather in mind there were only one set of heats.     STEAD, NV (Aug 25) – On a hot August day Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) hosted the final round of this year’s KPX series.
