  • BATTLE BORN MX AWARDS BANQUET

    RENO, NV (Jan.20) — Those that race and support the Battle Born Motocross series assembled at Boomtown this Saturday. Before things began there was a moment of silence honor BBMX member Seth Clark, who passed away in 2023. After that the board members and sponsors were honored. As usual there was a large amount of things sponsors gave that were raffled away during the banquet.   • NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB AWARDS BANQUET

    RENO, NV (January 13) — The Northern Nevada Kart Club gathered at the GSR on Saturday to honor its 2023 champions and hand out special awards. This time there were 50 more in attendance and the membership has grown over the past year. This past year one NNKC member succumbed to medical issues. When the meeting started MC Kelsey Nelson asked for a moment silence to honor Steve Manubi. He is a former racer whose kids are still racing and his presence will be missed.   • MRANN 2023 AWARDS BANQUET

    RENO, NV (Jan. 6, 2024) — On a cold and snowy night MRANN held its 2023 Awards Banquet west of Reno at Boomtown Casino Resort. This time the banquet was divided in half. Things started with the Saturday racers that included the youngest racers as well as Saturday Women, Mini bikes, Bombers and Pee Wees, which are the youngest riders. Two brothers scored a triple this past season winning three first place trophies and having perfect seasons. When asked about his Suzuki Fayet said, “I won the 50cc six and under class.   • PREVIEW LOOK AT THE 2024 SEASON

    RENO, NV (Dec. 30) — Well here we are, the last day of 2023 as we jump into 2024. For some they’ll be roaring out of this year and into the New Year when the 2024 racing season gets rolling. NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EVENTS: • To the east the Tulsa Shootout started this past Tuesday and goes through the 31st.   • SPARKS CARS & COFFEE CHRISTMAS EVE MEET

    SPARKS, NV (Dec.24) — Despite the cold morning several cars showed up at the Sunday meet hosted by Sparks Cars & Coffee. As usual there was quite a mix of  of cars plus a van. One interesting combination was a McLaren parked next to a Back To The Future Delorean. Was a great example of two different eras. Other exotics were a Lamborghini and a very rare Bricklin.   • CAR MEET & TOY DRIVE WEEKEND

    RENO, NV (Dec. 17) — This weekend there were two car meets in Reno. One was an annual event and toy drive while the other was the second-in-the-month with Reno Cars & Coffee. • Saturday began with the third annual Cars & Boba annual Toy Drive. The event benefits the Women and Children Center of the Sierra. This year’s event was blessed with great weather and the turn out reflected that.
