      STEAD, NV (June 24, 2018) – Northern Nevada Kart Club staged its third race of the season at Desert Park Raceway. The event was postponed and rescheduled due to a conflict with the Pylon Racing Seminar for the Air Races. Despite the heat there was some pretty good racing during the afternoon.     MILFORD, CALIF (June 17) – For the past five years MRANN racers have competed in the Corey Herring Memorial Race, which honors a young racer lost on Father’s Day. It’s also known as the “Go Big or Go Home,” race and again it was staged at the Honey Lake Motocross Track. Racing at Honey Lake is always a challenge as it combines motocross sections as well as cross country parts and includes a pretty big hill for the big bikes to negotiate.     MUSTANG (June 10) – Super Crawl visited the Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. The two-day show includes a Saturday night shootout as well as some foreign drivers.What this sport lacks for speed it more than makes up in the challenges all the competitors face with steep inclines to negotiate, side hills where rollovers are a constant challenge not to mention getting around in some very tight spaces.     QUINCY, CALIF. (June 9) – Before the annual 4th of July break American Valley Speedway hosted another points race this weekend. There was some close racing and the Sport Mod class may have had the closest finish ever. When the green waved on the 15-lap main Tom Froggatt lead the charge with Brittney Nieman second. As the field headed down the back straight Richard Longacre used an inside move to take the point. The first caution came when Longacre spun then on the restart he came back to second only to stall in Turn 2 bringing out another caution. There

    FALLON, NV (May 27) – The Reno chapter of the Over The Hill Gang (OTHG) hosted the second round of National Motocross Championship. Its two days of racing with a traditional BBQ and party Saturday night. Friday night’s rain help set up the dirt leading into a cool and windy Saturday. On Sunday the temperature warmed up although there was still a breeze. The event consists of two motos daily and a rider’s total score determines their final finishing position in each class.     RENO, NV (May 22) – Need2Speed, our local indoor electric go kart track is part of the new American E-Kart Championships sponsored by Monster Energy. Local tracks around the country are hosting a series aimed at selecting a local champion, who competes in the finals for a national title.     STEAD (MAY 20) – Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) hosted its second point’s race of the season under almost perfect weather. The drivers responded by staging some hard fought races during the day. One of the closest came in the Senior/Master LO206 event that combines both of these classes.
