FERNLEY, NV (July 13) – Summer’s heat and a strong wind were challenges when Fernley 95A Speedway began its latest race. Keeping the track surface moist and not dry kept the track crew busy during the heat races. Despite this the program continued and drivers gave the fans some good racing. When the 13-car IMCA field took the green Malen Gonzalez took off with Cory Sample and James Thibodeaux in hot pursuit. RENO, NV (JULY 11) – Reno Area Dirt Riders (RAD) began as a group of folks that wanted to go on rides together. Lately it’s become very popular and now there are some big changes happening to the group. The idea came from Mike Marcum, “I started it a little over three years ago mainly as a place for guys and gals to meet up so nobody rides alone. LOVELOCK, NV (JULY 6) – While the car count was less than expected on a money night the racing still went on at the Lovelock Speedway. Fans present were treated to good weather and some hot racing. After the IMCA main winner Cory Sample, who was appearing in this third race in as many days said, “It’s been at least over a year to be sure but it’s good to be back. RENO, NV (July 3) – Once again the Racing Preview is full of car meets, a parade and Fireworks with some racing mixed in. It’s going to be a great 4th of July. CAR MEETS: • The 4th gets rolling early as the Fernley Klazzic Kruizers and others gather at the Wig Wam for registration beginning at 8 a.m. then at 9 a.m. they join the parade through town to the Out-Of-Town Park. FERNLEY, NV (June 29) – Although the car count was a bit low, Fernley 95A Speedway hosted a good night of racing for the fans. And great weather made it a wonderful evening. When the 13-car IMCA field got the green Barry Stone was on point but soon had Robert Miller after him. Early on there was a quick caution and on the restart Cory Sample was after the leader with Gene Kay in tow. Soon Sample was on point with Kay, who took second was being chased by Miller. STEAD, NV (June 3) – Desert Park Raceway was alive with the sound of go-kart racing. The occasion was round 4 of the Northern Nevada Kart Club series. RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY: ROUND 5

FALLON, NV (June 22) – Rattlesnake Raceway hosted its fifth scheduled race of the season. Visiting were the Northern Nevada Winged Sprints as well as the Dwarf Cars. This time the weather cooperated and set the stage for some great racing in this bullring. During the heat races the track dried out so much dust was a problem when the sprint cars were out there. As a result a bunch of water was put down during the intermission. The result was a fairly long wheel packing session by the Hobby Stocks before their main. Finally the track was deemed ready

FERNLEY, NV (JUNE 15) – Fernley 95A Speedway hosted the Nevada Pro Stock Association’s opening round as well as the 4th Buehn Hobby Stock Classic. For the Hobby Stocks it was a chance to pocket $1,000 if they could win. The feature race of the night was actually run in two parts. It was the Buehn 4th annual Hobby Stock Classic, which paid the winner $1,000 and second place $500 with the rest of the field getting what the track usually pays. COREY HERRING MEMORIAL AT HONEY LAKE

MILFORD, CA (June19) – The 10th annual Corey Herring Memorial race was held at the Honey Lake Motocross Park this weekend. Each year on Father’s Day weekend this event honors Herring, who was lost in a race and also is a fund-raiser for a scholarship fund that helps young deserving riders. The Honey Lake course, located south of Susanville, Caifonria has both the motocross and cross-country sections. TOP GUN HOSTS NHRA PACIFIC OPEN

FALLON, NV (June 9) – Top Gun Drag Strip, located south of Fallon, hosted the NHRA Pacific National Open this weekend. It was a Division 7 double header of horsepower and fantastic speed as every one from kids to adults got their chance on the strip. The NHRA brought Super Street, Super Comp, Super Gas as well as Super stock/Stock Combo cars to this meet. These were combined with the usual Summit ET classes.
