RENO, NV (July 18) – Racing Preview for this week is full of cruises, an announcement for a fund raiser to help a local ride as well as regional, national and international racing. • CRUISE AND SHOW N’ SHINES: The Thursday Cruise, from 5 until 7:30 p.m. in Carson City starts at the Wing Stop located at 3965 South Carson Street. As usual, from 6 until 8 p.m. Summit Racing in Sparks will have its Cruise In Show N’ Shine on Friday evening. On Saturday the Comstock Classics Car Show will be at Miner’s Park I Virginia City. QUINCY, CALIF. (July 14) – This weekend the Nevada Pro Stock Association visited American Valley Speedway for the second time this season. For the pro stocks it was a time to remember and honor their former photographer with the Richard Wainscott Memorial Race. Before racing began all the cars in all the classes did a couple memorial laps following a UTV driven by Wainscott’s daughter and granddaughter. DESERT PARK RACEWAY: HOT RACING AND BUGS

STEAD, NV (July 15) – Desert Park Raceway was the site of the fourth round for this year’s Northern Nevada Kart Club’s season. Warm temperatures didn’t slow down the racers but some bugs did, at least for a while. Early in the day bugs, flying ants, plagued the scoring tower as well as the corner stations. Fortunately Ecolab was summed and they made quick work of the pests but the break morphed into the lunch break. LOVELOCK, NV (June 30) – The Lovelock Speedway bid June good-by with another race. Although the car count could have been better there was some good racing on this Nevada bullring. After the Modified feature, winner Joel Myers said, “Robert (Miller) got under me in lap traffic. STEAD, NV (June 24, 2018) – Northern Nevada Kart Club staged its third race of the season at Desert Park Raceway. The event was postponed and rescheduled due to a conflict with the Pylon Racing Seminar for the Air Races. Despite the heat there was some pretty good racing during the afternoon. FALLON, NV (June 16) – Nice late spring night set the stage for a night of racing at Rattlesnake Raceway. After a good start the IMCA modified was a very different race than was expected. COREY HERRING MEMORIAL RACE AT HONEY LAKE

MILFORD, CALIF (June 17) – For the past five years MRANN racers have competed in the Corey Herring Memorial Race, which honors a young racer lost on Father’s Day. It’s also known as the “Go Big or Go Home,” race and again it was staged at the Honey Lake Motocross Track. Racing at Honey Lake is always a challenge as it combines motocross sections as well as cross country parts and includes a pretty big hill for the big bikes to negotiate. RENO, NV (June 13) – It’s another full Racing Preview this week and I’m adding a new section. Here in Northwest Nevada it’s the season of the Cruise so I’ll be previewing those. First however I’ll turn the spotlight on local racing then follow with the other things. Lovelock Speedway gets the weekend’s racing started at 7 p.m. Friday. SUPERCRAWL AT WILD WEST MOTORSPORTS PARK

MUSTANG (June 10) – Super Crawl visited the Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. The two-day show includes a Saturday night shootout as well as some foreign drivers.What this sport lacks for speed it more than makes up in the challenges all the competitors face with steep inclines to negotiate, side hills where rollovers are a constant challenge not to mention getting around in some very tight spaces.
